I've got a 360 wheel I took in at the stall and just wondered if it had everything with it. I note there appears to be a DC input round the back of it but I wasn't given anything to plug in to that.

If you don't have the power adaptor, you won't be able to get force feedback.

I'll defer that question to someone who actually owns one.

I'll check tonight for you.

You should have the wheel unit itself, a detachable desk clamp, the pedals (these plug into the wheel with a small plastic plug that looks like a model jack, only smaller) and the PSU (which, as you've deduced, is the barrel connector next to where the pedals plug in).

No desk clamp either. Why don't people look after their stuff?

People are stupid. Pic of desk clamp -- it might be attached to the bottom of the wheel.

It isn't entirely useless without the clamp and power adapter, but you'd be limited to having it on your lap and without Force Feedback. Unfortunately you'd be missing out terribly without those two features.

Is it Centre positive or negative does it say?

I think I got a reasonable deal at £10. Probably should have bargained harder though and got it for £5

Years ago I had an ATI AIW. I lost the cables during a move and phoned ATI and they sent me them free..

Not saying M$ would do the same, but if you use the sympathetic line they may pity you enough to sell you replacements or send them free.

Worth a try I think.

Right now measure the connector for me... then mail the power supply to me for further inspection.

Will do. I'll just need your address and bank details.

You'll also need the installation CD.

I disagree, I didn't have one. I think all wheel-supported games install the drivers -- which are also probably in NXE anyway.

My 360 didn't need the installation CD, it just had the Forza 2 Demo on the CD, nothing else.

The installation driver was simply to make PGR3 wheel compatible and even then you didn't need it if you had the internet as the game would patch itself as soon as it detected the wheel

Dammit. If the rest of the gubbins were with ye Nire, I would have been interested in buying this "The Wheel" from you.

You need to find a busted one on ebay to buy for the missing bits.

Didn't MS do a recall on the PSUs for this due to overheating? It might be worth ringing them to see if you can blag a free one.

Also, I have a table clamp that I never use.

Yes. Come to think of it, I never got mine. I really should.

To claim it you just fill in the serial numbers of the wheel and an Xbox, so you can probably get a free PSU, Nirejhenge. Linky.
