I might well buy a new DS just for this. Puzzle Quest was my most-played game of 2007. My god, the addiction.

took me 3 go's to win, I was well rusty. So what do the silver ones do, Im sure when you get a certain number of purples you get an extra turn.

I won on my second go. Not figured out the silver or purple ones yet.

The laser cannon one (the 15 reds one) is a varient of my standard Puzzle Quest tactic. I had a damage spell that worked the same way, and a spell which turned a random colour red, meaning I could harvest a load of red gems on my first turn. I beat the final boss with one hand behind my back.

Yes, I lost my first game gambling I could not charge my shield. It forces an interesting aggressive/defensive choice.

bump added a link to a proper pc demo.

In other news if you get either 20 or 25 purple points you get an extra turn.

If you get 30 silver points then you get 5 extra shield points added to your shield total and your whole shield regenerated.

Well that's quite interesting - seemed a lot more competitive than the first one, where after the first few rounds I barely remember losing a round. Won it on my second go without too much trouble once I realised where the shields were and how the weapons worked, but it's sufficiently different, and the weapons sufficiently interesting, that it'll be worth a go I think.
