Yo!

I'd like to copy some stuff between two 360 hard drives, but I have no memory card.

Is there anybody who could send over a card in a jiffy bag, and I'll send it back pronto, together with a 2 bob coin and a picture of Ren saying 'THAAANK YOOOOU.'

I do have a spare 64 card kicking around after I got a 512 one for Christmas which isn't being used at the moment.

If that's enough, PM-me-do.

Or do Sheepeh. Either/Or as The LEague Against Tedium once said.

You can do Dimrill if you like. I won't cry. :)

I would suggest doing whoever is geographically closer to minise potential postie mishaps.

It's basically down to whether you'd like your memory card to come packed in wool, or mysterious springy red wirey hair.

It'll be fiiiiiine. I didn't know Dimmers had some wool, though.

You reckon it'll get there with a 1st class stamp on the jiffy, or does it need taking in to the post office manually these days for bags?

I live right next to the post office anyway, so it's not a biggie.

I'm pretty sure you should be fine just putting it in the post unless it ends up being a large letter. :/

I'll probably just go in and ask. It could well count as a Packet, I would have thought. I'd rather pay a few more pence and make sure it arrives safely.

It depends on how big the biggest save is. I don't know of any saves that are 60mb big, so I can just do it in bits if there's a lot to copy.

Buy a cheap set of digital scales, get an online account with royal mail

Y'know what, fuck it. PM me in the morning and I'll weigh my mem card in a jiffy and tell you how many stamps you need, 'k

I found a price list, so it's all good.

There aren't any saves I know of that are 60MB big, just some that stop you form moving to card at all. Like Viva Pinata.

I'll see about getting it posted out tomorrow.

Doesn't VP only let you move, rather than copy? I thought that were the way it worked.

Nope, it's locked to the device you saved it on. I couldn't move my saves off my hard drive when I got my memory card.

surely you can bypass that if you copy your profile onto the card?

Not that I know of. The only way of moving it is to take it from the drive using an XSata and resigning it to the new device. The Move and Copy options are simply disabled.

It might be worth trying - profiles are odd as well - you can move them but not copy them, so it might be locked to the profile rather than the machine - if you're lucky. I run mine from a memory card now as I have two machines and it's easier to move it rather than swap HDDs all the time.

You can't. It's key-coded to the device you save it to. There's simply no way to move it, the option is never presented.

I run my profiles off Memory Cards as well, which is why I had the 64 one before I was given a 512 as the 64 had got full with saves. I switch Xboxes quite a lot, it's a useful feature.

MrD, I posted the card out this afternoon in a little jiffy bag, bubble wrapped and in it's plastic casing. I don't use it now so don't worry if the casing gets broken in any way, I included it purely to protect the end from snapping off the card. Also no hurry in sending it back.

My return address is written on the back, but I'll PM a copy to you just in case it becomes unreadable or anything.
