We've just borrowed the DVD box set of the The Tudors series.

Bloody hell but it's soft porn BBC2 stylee.

So, pretty good. Some historical inaccuracies (Henry's first bastard son was not killed age 5, he died age 25), and Anne Boleyn is fucking irritating, but some top period action going on. The actor playing the young and virile Henry has the right level of "petulant twat" about him, and Sam Neill plays Cardinal Wolesley! Score!

I couldn't get my head around Steerpike playing Henry, so I didn't watch it.

Ha! So he was. That didn't click for some reason.

Still, he does a good job of it. Bloody hard looking bloke, too. Clearly gets a lot of gym time.

I saw this on the tellybox, and it was really quite engaging.

Also, Natalie Dormer is hot.

Really? She has that slightly piggy Charlie Church face/nose thing going on.

Well, she kept me watching. Also similar to the girl who played Marion in the Robin Hood series.

Now she *was* hot - the stuff of one's first naughty thoughts as a child.

Mumsy, you mean?
Talking of period stuff I did wonder every time I saw Merlin ( and I didn't watch all of it as I thought it was more failure than success tbh) that the girl who played Morgana was either very attractive or a bit too masculine for my tastes and I could never decide which.

I absolutely adore that face shape. There's something about a strong jawline and cheekbones on an otherwise delicate-ish face that is quite alluring.

This is my neighbour who I'm about to start a portrait of (well, it's more a painting I'm using her for rather than a straight portrait as it were). You might like her. She's also about 5'10" ;)

Hmm. her face is s lightly too long for my tastes.

You know, it's amazing any men find women they're happy with, come to think of it.

Well, it's entirely subjective, this objective viewing of images. Sex appeal isn't something that comes across very well in images, not that I'm saying my neighbour is sexy, just that there are some women I've come across that really make your vas deferens tingle, if you know what I mean, and that is frequently, within very broad parameters, entirely subjective.

Just imagine if we all found the same woman attractive and how exhausting it would be for her ;)

They don't, they find ones they can put up with. When they're pissed.

Not all of us obsess over the minutiae of someone's chin. ;)

(And some of us are just spanners who can't afford the luxury.)
