Where has 'BeeX' with the disgusting capital X come from?

Pfft, don't flatter yourself. I first saw it as a clantag on Call of Duty 4 back in April. I have no idea who started it.

God, it makes me want to puke (but I've got the Norwalk virus at the moment, so this is hardly a surprise). BeEx was bad enough, but at least that made sense.

I did that. My COD4 thing was amusingly then [BeeX]BEEXMrChris. I'll have to try and work in BEeX, BeEx and BeEX as well.

Same here, although I've done my fair share of propagating it. I like the capital X. X is clearly the coolest letter, which is why David S Cohen (Simpsons writer) became David X Cohen (Futurama writer) when he had to join the Writer's Guild (and hence needed a unique name).

But do you say it as beex (like 'beaks'), or BeEx (Bee Ecks)?

Eh?

Also, I don't like the capital 'x'

I sometime use just 'BX', like in Rainbox Six Vegas where you're only allowed three letters for your clantag.

That's very similar, yes. In the same way that "Invented the car" is quite similar to "drives to work".

Ooooh, BX is good.

And that's how it's pronounced, obv.

"beaks", surely? Doesn't everyone read it like that? no? Well you're all broken, then.

Yeah, I was amazed at how an arbitrarily set clantag limit led to me coming up with something so cool.

It's like not washing up for a month and inventing penicillin.

That's quite neat, actually.

In the beginning I though of it more as BETEO (Bee Tee Oh), though :hat:

BEEX WEEX will be called what if we switch to BETEO?

And....sorry to sound a little-I don't know what actually but-why does it matter how it's referred to? Just asking

You know, for newcomers, all of this shit would be completely incomprehensible. Maybe we should have a glossary of terms?

BETEO won't fit as a clan tag on anything, though. Also, you smell of wee.

Platinum members get to call it BX.
Gold members get to call it BeeX.
Silver members have to wait a week and then they can call it BETEO.

That's me told :/

I was only asking because I figured maybe people have complained about it-but I can't really see why as both are valid terms? I thought it was always used tbh, but that may be because I've joined late

Probably missed the point-Curiosity used the term in April mentioning a game he was playing I think, so it's as far back as then?

I often struggle to decide which version to use when speaking to the missus.

Referring to people I might say, "The BETEO lot."

Referring to the place I might say, "Over on BeeX"

I pronounce that, "Be Ex", but I prefer the symmetry of the capitalisation in BeeX.

*shrugs*

I'm to blame for BeeX, as it was just after The Sundering, and I was playing CoD4 with Dimmers, who'd borrowed the game off someone, or something.

I still had my WoS clantag, and as Dimrill was looking at it in envy, he pointed out that it shouldn't be WoS anymore. I agreed and changed it to BeeX, as BETEO wouldn't fit, and BeEx looked rubbish.

And we laughed, long into the night.
