You've all seen this on TV now, but how many errors can you spot? It's easier on TV as the Youtube quality is crap.

The guardian has a higher quality version here http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/jan/05/virgin-atlantic-1980s-rubiks

Errors I've spotted are:

The advert is set in 1984 but I'm pretty sure the first mobile phone networks didn't launch until the following year.

You can spot an Alder Valley bus in the background at the start. However they didn't adopt the green livery until a few years later (see below). Let alone what an Alder Valley bus is doing at Gatwick!:

The idea that a guy would drop a phone because of some pretty ladies is kind of absurd in the first place.
Edit: and the headline on the paper has too many long words for the sun.

That's so wrong I don't even know where to start. That's the main cause of phone damage, for heaven's sake.

Big Countrys Steeltown was released in Oct 1984

I can't believe the effort I put into that.

Excellent research Sir! 888 Bananas!

Apparently the Bender burger in Wimpy is the wrong size as well.

Actually weren't Virgin famous for the crew rolling up pissed in the early days?

The yuppie pays with a number of silver coins, how much would the Sun have been in 1984?

okay, just looked harder, it is 16p, so could have been 3 x 5p and a 1p.

Nope - the copper coin was the same size as the silver ones, and the old 5p was the same size as a 2p piece.

Of course, he could have not wanted the change.

Also, the girl at the end winks at the camera, but she's just a painting so that wouldn't be possible.

[edit]How the hell did you manage that, Bobby?

Also, in 1984 I was only 2, so I wouldn't have understood what I just saw. But I do.

I was eleven. Oh wait, it's set in June. I was ten.

I think I might have seen Temple of Doom for my birthday film that year.

X is 1982, isn't it? That would make it two years old. So ok, then.
