Amazing.. I WISH I could have gone to Niagra. It was only about a 20 hr drive away :(

Mind you I say that but I'm terrified of heights. I think though for Niagra and Hoover dam I could make exceptions to the rule :)

I used to talk on MSN with an american girl i met through a metal forum. She asked me why i didn't get to visit the forum members from Barcelona. They were so near me.

Yup. They're the spare props that they bolt onto the fully rotational pods (geek marine mode on) basically the boat has these pods that look like jet engines with 4 of those ^^ bolted on. They rotate 360' meaning there's no need for tugboats to pull her in.

I'm utterly terrified of flying, beyond terrifed I simply cannot fly . Boats however? I could live on one.

Those props are 'ball burnished' where they take a drill of sorts with a polishing wheel on and then sit and manually make all of those circles. They're absolutely babie's bum smooth and must have taken loads of man hours to get like that. Not suprising they like to show them off, but it's well cool that the boat carries all it's own spares and thus can be fixed anywhere it travels. Genius IMO.

Niagara Falls is excellent. Niagara itself is a bit rubbish - Canadian side is all touristy and stuff, US is industrial.

Niagara on the Lake is picture postcard pretty.

The first few months of being in the US is absolutely terrifying. The longest trip I ever took beforehand was to the south of france, which took about 8 hours. By the end of which my underwear had become embedded in my crack and I thought I was going to have to have it surgically removed.

First feelings of being in the US is you are an ant. Simply put.

It's when you realise that if you want the countryside beauty of NJ (the garden state bit and not the armpit under NY) and the cash moneys of a good job you need to drive. 2 hours a day I drove to work, and 2 hours back. After a while that feels like nothing, so being on the interstate and driving 9 hours at a time (most I ever did was 15.5 from NJ straight to OH 800 miles) seems normal.

A mate of mine recently picked me up from where I live (1 mile from beach southern UK) and took me to his place in the cotswolds, a 2 hr drive. By the end of which his wife was really moaning. Me? I said "man, feels like we've hit the first rest stop !" me and him both burst into laughter as he lived in Texas for 7 years.

His wife didn't get the joke :)

i prefer the coastline. The Kerry region in general (the lakes of Killarney is a favorite of mine). Ireland's midlands are a bit boring.

Malia: i was in ireland for 2 weeks and i didn't get any rain. You people are spraying green the whole country.

haha ! very true.

On the subject of Ireland...

Whilst reading a copy of Nat Geo out in 'that country' from the 70's I saw this article about a place in Ireland that was nothing but a cliff and rocks. The whole place was like, rocks. No grass no nothing. Hmm.. how the hell can I find out where that was now?

That's going to seriously bug the shit out of me now.

That penultimate picture of mine was taken in Hayes, a town so rubbish that they built a bypass just so that innocent people wouldn't have to drive through it. As was the last one, in fact. It's harder, but if you get into the habit of doing it, you'll find interesting sights and angles in all sorts of places.

The best part is that it looks like it was posed, but it wasn't. She didn't even know I was taking it, but the angle of the shot makes it look like she's pointed straight at me.

My many years of stalking paid off that day!
