Well, Monkey didn't order any cider, but the top shelf and third shelf down are all fruit beers, so, you are right, we have plenty of fruit. I shall suggest to Monkey that he throw the apples away and get more fruit beers.

Or just stick them in a barrel with some sugar and yeast.

Then you play the waiting game...

I am rather fond of 'Floris' beers - all varieties. Chapeau are inexpensive and very palletable, but stay away from the peach and apricot versions, as they can sometimes contain a LOT of sediment (I mean, two inches - the other flavours tend to have no sediment at all). Mongozo coconut beers are superb, and St Louis beer in the varieties framboise, peach and kriek are also very nice and also inexpensive.

So you only drink the peach and apricot varieties at Christmas for the sedimental value?

DAY 9 OF ADVENT MONKEY

So, once a year Mimi and Craig haul a big old chunk of tree into the house for me to play on. Obviously, trees attract monkeys and soon enough the place is full of little swinging buddies of mine. This year the tree is a bit over 8ft tall, so there is planty of room to play. This is after just quarter of an hour...

Soon enough they'll cover it in shiny things and chocolates, which is fine by me, for for now it is my time to play :munkeh:

One of the monkeys has hanged himself. I believe he may get off on auto-asphyxia, as he's still smiling.

They are special Christmas Monkeys that especially enjoy dangling from trees. The little one is called ChristmasMonk and the larger one is DangleMonk.

DAY 10 OF ADVENT MONKEY

My favourite thing about Christmas trees is all of the random things you can put on them. My fovourite is this here Skiing monkey, who has a look of Dr Seuss about him.

The tree is bedecked with all manner of jewels and toys and there are even a couple of presents underneath now, though none of them look like bananas... Still, Santa hasn't visited yet!

DAY 11 OF ADVENT MONKEY

The problem with Christmas decorations is that when you pack them away at the end of each year, you have a whole 11 months to forget where you put them.

Last year Mimi's nan gave her and Craig the old fashioned nativity scene that Mimi used to enjoy putting on the table each year. It took me a while to remember where she had stored it, but eventually I managed to locate all of the pieces and assemble it as a surprise.

It's many years old and a very traditional nativity scene. I hope I managed to arrange it correctly:

Where's your Christmas name Monkey? It should be MonkeYule or something like that. Monkey Bells perhaps.

Excellent advent-age though, keep up the good work :)

You missed the second one, hiding by Monkey's elbow! There are three all together. My grandad bought them for me to put on the tree when I was a very little girl as he used to take me out and teach me about birds and wildlife, with a par of binoculars bigger that I was, and we used to feed the birds and always make those Blue Peter bird feeders at winter so we always had robins around our house. He bought them home one day all wrapped up and said that the tree was missing something, and unwrapped the three decorations he had been out and bought :) For that reason they are very dear to me :)

Monkeyt has not forgotten and will update later today. We had a bit of worry with my Nan the other day as I phone her every day to make sure she was OK, and nobody had been able to get an answer from her on the phone all day long, and I was feeling sick with worry until someone went around there with a key and managed to lift the latch-chain up with a coathanger they took with them. She had put her super-loud-speaker-phone for deaf people on mute by accident. By the time someone managed to get in late at night neither monke or I felt up to updating Advent Monkey :(

We'll take some new pictures today, though. :munkeh:

I don't think that even a picture of my Nan sitting atop a Christmas tree dressed as a fairy would make me travel the country just to take the picture.
