Right, can someone else take repsonsibility for making this happen because I'm shit?

I can't do 12th or 17-21st but other than that I'm really keen for Metal Angel to buy me beers.

Also, might be new folk.

Stuff added by Dr Glyndwr

Why don't you Welsh travel out from your sheep laden paradise to allow the rest of us to go too? How about Edinburgh?

We do. Every other year during the Six Nations, when it's our turn to thrash Scotland.

I'd be up for a visit to Cimroo at some point, but this close to Christmas is stretching it, moneywise.

Let's see... possibly this Wednesday coming (possibly) or maybe next Monday (15th?) as otherwise we'll have to be starting late as I won't be finishing work until 9pm. Next weekend is definitely out as I'm working.

You inexplicably charge us for getting in, though, whilst we allow you out for nowt.

Based on what everyone has said so far the most likely date is Monday 15th Dec. I would be able to come then, so would MyFinger.

Don't you think it's a bit crass suggesting an Oirish theme chain pub for a night out drinking in the principality?

In fairness "Wales", "Culture", "Hospitality" are not often words heard in the same sentence. SO O'Neill's is perfect.

Is that one of those words that is pronounced the same and means the same thing, but for some reason is spelled differently? How would a welsh speaker pronounce club-with-a-U-then?

:D

Pretty much - though Myp is closer to the way it should be pronounced in that the 'b' would be slightly harder or blunter like a northern accent because of the use of 'w' being pronounced on occasions such as this as 'ooh' - there are occasions where the 'w' would be pronounced in a more recognisable fashion to English speakers though, such as Gwynnedd where the 'w' would be hard and the double 'd' would be soft and pronounced like 'th'

So, Clwb Ifor Bach would be pronounced Cloohb Eevor Bach

Chap I was at work with went to rugby match at that little Welsh national playing field. The Millenium Stadium, or whatever they've named it.

Anyway - he's in the toilets, and some english chap next to him decides it'd be very funny to call out "I'm the only gay in the village", in a welsh accent. Moments later, a deep voice behind him intones "Oh no you're not, boyo"

Monday 15th Dec

I'm calling it for this date. I know a Monday is stupid, but it's really hard to co-ordinate dates around Christmas time. Can people chime in if they plan to attend? Goatboy, if you don't mind, I'm going to edit your first post to keep a list of attendees.

That's fine, and so is Monday.

That said I might be nearing exhaustion, and therefore may drive in and not drink, though chances are slight.

Try to avoid rectal prolapse then, that'd be a very good reason not to make it.

What time did people suggest again? I don't have a finishing time so much as a point at which I accept that I'm not going to be able to make further productive progress with the mountain of crap I'm faced with.

MyFinger finishes work early, about 4:30, so I am also likely to knock off a little early and meet him in town at, say, 5pm or so. That's the kickoff time. We need a where, I am open to suggestions. The O'Neill's Metal Angel mentioned is probably a good choice, as it's pretty easy to find from the station.

Well I'm gonna head in for the day as I've never been before so figured I might as well have a wander around the city while I'm there. :)
