Try the £5 Gregg's Lunchtime Challenge. Go to Gregg's, spend at least £5, and eat it all for lunch.

It's possible these days, I think, although hard work. Back when we first floated this idea in school, £1 in Gregg's bought you a pack of six jam doughnuts; then, the £5 Challenge was the stuff of legends.

If you spend £5 on food at Gregg's and then eat it all yourself, you'll be a very fat bastard. Most of those bakes and pasties are less than a quid, and five of them will initiate BLOAT MODE.

Also, try to go to Gregg's BEFORE noon... like, 1130. That way, everything has been freshly baked and lined up for lunch, but without the hordes of chavs descending and buying it all.

Their sandwiches are probably about three quid, so not too hard in the London branches.

Why spend £5 on lunch at Gregg's when you can get one of the fantastic posh sandwiches from M&S (like the New York Deli Pastrami) and have enough left over for a bottle of M&S' surprisingly decent cola AND a packet of their lovely honeyed parsnip crisps?

That's £5 much better spent, imho.

I'd rather go to Greenhalghs bakers (sorry Southern scum, Flatcaps only) they make MUCH better pies, like the Lamb Biriyani and Beef Balti for instance. Yummo.

He was sat on a stool and I walked backwards into him nearly knocking him off it, when I turned to say sorry he looked sike some sort of bonanza extra and looked at me like I was some drunk 16 year old. I hadn't even had anything to drink at that point! Hence me hugging the fruit machine for the next 5mins while I tried to breathe. Those stupid toilets didn't help matters either!

Hell yes, I just had an Angus Beef and Ale chuckney sarnie, a bottle of fresh squeezed Clementine juice and a yougurt with muesli on the side thing for pennies more than that.
