I josh, I josh.

Although I might have to avoid playing Get It On if we're going to be driving straight afterwards.

Well yes, I'm sure we'll be playing for a good while, so even traitors who want to watch the IT Crowd can join us, too.

I quite enjoyed that. I actually came top of the leaderboard for once. After I was SPURNED by those nasty UTIII'ers I went and played with the other group, and didn't do too badly there, either.

A great night. Thanks to all 13(!) people who joined in - shame we couldn't all play in one lobby.

CUT-OUT-AND-KEEP* TEN-STEP GUIDE TO RACING LIKE RODDERS

STEP 1
Lose the first race because you're dicking about in the media player. This investment will pay off handsomely later when the adrenaline-pumping sounds of Mister Kenny Loggins catapult you to the top of the leaderboard.

STEP 2
She falls in love with you.

STEP 3
You kiss and hold her tightly. Now that sure. Feels like heaven. To me.

STEP 4
Now you're ready for your first race in anger. Stamp on the accelerator and, as the lights go green, scream away from the starting line chased by a cloud of smoke and a symphony of screaming rubber.

STEP 5
Barrel down the start-finish straight, 100% of you attention on trying to find the perfect line to ease past the cars in front of you.

STEP 6
Realise that everyone else's brake lights are coming on.

STEP 7
Some seconds later, realise that means everyone else is braking.

STEP 8
Some seconds after that, realise that means there's a corner coming up.

STEP 9
Squeal like a fifties sit-com housewife who's just spotted a mouse in her kitchen.

STEP 10
There are two accepted maneuvers at this point. The beginner might be best advised to simply carry far too much speed into the corner and cause an enormous pile-up as you smack into the utterly blameless cars in front. However, more advanced students may wish to try panic braking far too hard whilst slewing across the road in a desperate skid and causing an enormous pile-up aas the utterly blameless cars behind smack into you.

CONGRATULATIONS! You're well on your way to not seeing another car the rest of the race as you trundle round to an inevitable fifth-place finish!

* - Don't try to cut this out**.
** - Probably best you not keep it, either.

That was rather fun...not enough fun to convince me to play the single player game but fun none the less. Even though the drink was impairing my driving and speaking ability I didnt come last in every race.

Jamesoff has installed it to the HDD and informs me it benefits immensely so anyone with space do this.

I should be able to make it.

Armed with this information, I went to install it. Turns out I don't own it anymore... oops.

I installed Forza and noticed no difference at all part from the disc not spinning.

Can't comment since I'm not tried it but remember online loading will last as long as the longest person anyway.

I understand that, of course. I've been letting the AI driver do some racess for me too and I can't say I noticed a difference. It may be a few seconds quicker I suppose but 30 seconds and 25 seconds isn't worth 6GB of space.

Surely the disk not spinning is tho??

I was a bit annoyed last night as I was using FLIS's xbox (with my hard drive)to start with, which I installed Forza to using her xbox but when I went back to mine it wouldnt let me play it because the HD and Xbox have to remain the same...how stupid is that? Surely having to have the disk in to play it should be enough?

Anyway, cheers, for Perkies setting up lobby 2 last night...first time Ive played for months and it was most enjoyable.

Yes, that seems a bit silly, that's what the disk check is for surely? So if I need my box replaced I have to delete and reinstall all my games.

Seeing as how successful this was last week, how would people like to do this as a monthly thing, say on the last Friday of every month? Of course, Race Pro being released in Feb might put paid to it...

Also, December will be out due to Christmas and stuff.

I propose we have a one-off Forza night very soon. Because it's still excellent, even if most of you guys have forgotten this.

THE THEME IS... 'The fastest car you've ever driven in real life - tuned up to the top of A Class.' This is because some of us might have only managed an Astra, whereas others might have done a track day in a Ferrari or similar.

TEH ROOLZ:
-car must have no aero mods or bodykit UNLESS the one you actually drove did. No stickers or such either, unless.
-if you haven't driven anything in the game, the nearest equivalent or something fast you may have ridden in counts (so, if you've driven a Type R but not one of the ones in the game, you can use the one that is in the game)
-tune the car up to the top of A Class in any way you wish
-in the extremely unlikely event that you've driven something that's class S or U, pick something else. This also includes Race Classes, Grim... NOTHING HIGHER THAN A.

Time and date to be confirmed.

I'm quite close to this too. I'm still garbage and play on easy level with most of the assists on though.

I play against easy AI, but because I'm rubbish with my wheel. I don't have any assists or AT, though. It's getting really hard to control some of the higher powered cars without traction control.

Yeah, you should be fine.

I'm not sure whether to spec my Golf GTI up to A class, or go with the Gallardo.
