I have largely ignored it but for the past week I have been playing it for a few hours nearly each day between guild wars
I hate dogs & tanks apart from that it's fun.

Looking forward to seeing how the co-op mode plays on the game.

My PS3 (boooo, no bezzies) review copy came today. The singleplayer campaign is, er, a bit shit so far. Multiplayer is good - same as the beta and CoD 4. Co-op probably livens up the singleplayer campaign, but it's so cliche filled and boring and repetitive. Maybe it'll get good.

Which doesn't bode well if you don't really like the multiplayer that much anymore, and have to entertain yourself by running at the enemy with live grenade in hand. That and general reports from the CoD5 multiplay haven't been at all glowing.

my mate was telling me of the beta he was playing where people were throwing plastic explosives on each other then running in a room full of people and setting them off, which sounded fun.

Wait for the reviews - the embargo is midnight tonight. :)

So far, I think the single player campaign is generic, linear shite. But it may improve.

I don't see that happening... CoD3's SP campaign certainly didn't. A bunch of random characters you didn't like or care about getting all angry over stuff that didn't matter.... but first, we zip over hundreds of miles to control someone of a different nationality for a mission or two, to REALLY BREAK THE NARRATIVE UP.

Yeah, the playing as different characters happens here too. And, no joke, three times in the first four or five missions, you start off crawling on the ground, having to be rescued. And you're rescued at the end of the first mission as well and dragged to safety. That's FOUR times a character you don't care about comes over to you and "picks you up". They're really scraping the barrel for ideas. Oh, and three times you're on the floor, twice tied up and once pretending to be dead, whilst watching Germans/Japanese kill your friends.

The character-changing really bugged me about CoD4. I just never gained a sense of attachment with any of them because I was switching so often, and some of them were dying. I was never quite sure who I was playing, who I was fighting, where I was, or what I was fighting for.

I want to play as one character. I didn't forgive Halo for it, and I won't forgive you. If you want to have more than one playable character, do it like NOD/GDI and have completely separate campaigns.

It also has a "stylish" video thing between every level that does little to explain what the fuck is going on. Loads of big text wizzing about the screen and stuff. It's like an advert between every level.

The beta indeed seems to be dead - as soon as you launch it, it disconnects you from Live. Then, when you quit, it reconnects.
