Quote:
According to an ISPA spokesman, Sharkey and those from the ISP community seemed optimistic that “some kind of agreement between rightholders and ISPs can be reached.” He adds, “Everyone wants to work together to make legal online models work.”

Oh dear.

Oooh, and who's going to pay for the ISPs' cost of enforcement of this? Why, I do believe it may very well be their subscribers.

Well once the Gov are recording every website you visit then visiting Piratebay will probably be enough for them to bust your door down.

I for one would be delighted if there was a reasonably priced DRM-free download service that didn't install any software on my machine and carried all the labels I wanted to buy music from. That would be the requirement for me to actually use a music download service.

That's basically Amazon, except they don't run in this country, yet.

Which in the eyes of the music companies makes you exactly as much of a pirate as if you just downloaded.

Call me old fashioned, but I thought that music was just free? Do some people pay for it then?

bleep.com, audiolunchbox, cdbaby all carry mp3s for download. I suppose you could argue about reasonably priced but I didn't think they were too unreasonable.
