I few months ago the gf moved into her flat and subbed up to Tiscali for broadband internets. She now plans to move in about a month to somewhere that already has internet, tiscali as well no less. Where does she stand in terms of tiscali's minimum contract? She's only about 5 months in but I suspect its a standard 12-month contract. Will they seriously try to charge her for moving to somewhere that already has an account with the same company?

Just fact-finding before she runs into any problems during the move, so I can blast them with pre-prepared anger and facts.

If she puts her name on the new contract, then I can't see it being a problem.

Not possible, new place is under existing tiscali contract in the name of the landlord.

What if the landlord of the place she's moving to rings tiscali and tells them that if they try to impose a cancellation fee they'll find their previously loyal customer of two years will be fucking off to another provider immediately?

I don't know, you'd have to ask them.

Is the landlord over the 12 month period? You might be able to transfer it if he is.

I'd rather pay the cancellation fee than ever use Tiscali, mind.

He's asking you precisely so he DOESN'T have to ask them... just hurry up and answer on behalf of Tiscali and it will save all manner of arguing and hassle.

This. Tiscali fail on SO MANY LEVELS.

I'd imagine they are going to ask for cancellation fees as the contract isn't going to be in her name.
