(The following are my opinions, not the opinions of the moderators or anything)
Do we need to do a recruitment drive for new members?
The 'site' has stalled a bit* so we need to think of something else in the meantime. I've had a chat with JonaRob and we're going to stick a banner at the top of SnappyGamer for a week and see what happens.
But do we need a recruitment 'drive'?
I've got a couple of ideas - adverts on a few sites, etc. Even making the BeEx CS server public might help.
Discuss!

* Yeah, I know. I'll put my thinking cap on in the new year. Can we discuss that somewhere else, though?

We could do a rematch with UGVM and let them win this time instead of tearing them a new one. Some of them might actually stick around then :)

That's a good idea. And maybe not just them.

New members are always good and adverts could be a good way of getting some fresh blood. Would you be wanting contributions for these?

Always a good idea. You might have to give kick/ban powers to a few reliable members to help moderate it from noobs. .

I can knock up some postcards to stick up in public toilets, I find this is the best way of attracting fresh meat.

Seriously though, not arsed either way. I like the cleek level of the current bezzies and the trickle of nu emos is adequate for my needs.

Maybe so, but the number of active members is trickling the wrong way.
Slowly, granted.

It's an odd selection of peeps here though isn't it? The common lineage being (bizarrely) Amiga Power? Who else would get the Natch jokes and the references to :attitude: ? I lurked at WOS for ages before joining you muddy funsters over here in bezzie land.

Or we can sling him some money to put 'www.beex.co.uk' at the end of his next movie.
Hmm...

His videos are rather good y'know. I've said a zillion times that if I were going to subscribe to anyone for £2 a month it would be him, because a) He produces content regularly, despite having all other kinds of 'real' things to deal with, which doesn't include whining about what flavours of seabrook crisps are currently out of stock, and b) His content is fucking awesome and hilarious, representing real effort.

Dr. A for king, I say.

Oh I agree, I'm a big fan myself. But I suspect that a lot his viewers tend to miss the sarcasm and straight faced mockery that his vids are brimming with. Most of the comments on yootoob are "I LOOOOVE your accent! Are you Yahtzee???????????/??"

Amusingly, back in 2006 my sister put the slogan 'I (heart) pimpmysnack.com' on the back of her car, and it always attracted a lot of attention. I ended up doing an interview with British Forces Radio because one of their researchers drove past my sister's car and spotted it, before contacting me. :D

I invited some gamer friends to join the Facebook group, hoping they'd have the gumption to join up at the forum too, but obviously not.

Whilst I think of it, there was another forum, where people wanted to discuss world events and politics and the like, but it was banned. Downside is, some chaff might come along with the wheat, IYSWIM. Kovacs knows where.
