Ah, the guy who's just been accused tries desperation distraction tactics.

I frequently don't vote on day 1 (other than comedy votes for CG, natch) and I've said exactly when I'll vote and why.

Just as an aside, my distant cousin in the previous village was a Mafia Godfather and decided to kill Dudley for acting out of character and he turned out to be a completely innocent townie, so don't read too much into that.

Because the entirety of my reasoning rests on the fact that Curiosity is a lying Mafia Goon? If I'm wrong about that (though as previously stated, I'm very convinced I'm not), I'll happily put my hand up and say I was completely wrong about all the others, and they're just acting scummy rather than being scummy.

My accusation of Zardoz was a random day 1 accusation, before Curiosity gave us all something to actually vote for. Runcle for the same reason as the others - vehement baseless defending of Curio.

everyone went in a huff then? Im off out tonight to see the sea power and probably wont be changing my vote because am I fuck getting up early for this. Actually I need to go to uni so I might be up before the deadline but I still doubt I'll change my vote. Anyway come vote dudley with me I'll give you a sweety or a dvd or something. Anyway if theres no lynch our side of the argument will get what we want anyway.

I think we reached the "time to go home from work" period. So a lot of people will be on their way home. Whether they'll bother to post again later will depend on if they have anything better to do this evening.

Again then like I said before, if we kill one of the mafia - e.g. Zaphod, who you have fingered, we can then see tommorow if curiosity was telling the truth by what murders occur over night.

Except that there's a good chance that one or two of those I've named have been persuaded by the Curiosity the evil master of deceit. Curio is a cert, the others are either Mafia or easily persuaded townies.

I'm not sure people have been "persuaded" by Curiosity, we know he's a bad guy, it's just a question of what we do with him.

You've been persuaded he's the SK, when he isn't, is what I mean.

You know when you watch a film, and the police know someone who is a known lunatic so they go to him for information and it all goes quite swimmingly until suddenly, out of the blue, said serial killer escapes and begins wreaking the revenge.

That is how it ends. Lynch before the revenge is wrought.

I've already said I don't care if he's the SK or not.
If he doesn't prove himself tonight, then we can lynch him. If he's not the SK, then it's not going to hurt to leave him alive for one night.

Have a look through the past games, and see how well that's worked. Everyone always manages to find a reason to leave the bad guy alive 'just one more night'. What if he's roleblocked? What if the doc protects his target? What if he cuts my flippin' gizzard?

True, but I'm not asking for one more night, I'm asking for one.

If he gets roleblocked, then we know there's a roleblocker, and better that he roleblocks the SK then one of the investigative roles.
If the doc protects his target, then that's a 2-sided coin as we don't know which side the doc is on. Curiosity can tell us who he targetted and we can go from there.
If he kills you, or me, then so be it, we find out what role that person had and we go on from there.

If the majority don't like what he does tonight, then there'll be a vote to lynch him, but I can't see lynching him getting us any further than being able to pat ourselves on the back for getting a bad guy day one and then being totally fucked for the rest of the game.

For everyone voting to save the SK, remember, for him to win, you must die. But that's OK, because he'll be lynched before he gets to you, right?

Although, to be honest, if we go after him and he is the SK, I guess I pretty much walk up to the block myself.

I wouldn't be Cras, I think he should die whether he's SK or Scum regardless. The fact we're still debating it is a mystery to me.

Ah yes, with our awesome power of one lynch a day, while every night we're being killed by the mafia and recruited by the cult.

In past instances there hasnt been night on bonafide proof that the bad guy is infact bad.
I think we can all agree there is massive chance he is either the SK, Mafia, or Cult.

Therefore, he WILL die at some point, but theres potentially more to be learnt by sparing him. Isnt there??

In my case because many games hinge on things said by people on day 1.

I'd quite like the maximum possible amount of game 1 on that basis, so I left it as late as possible.

Absolutely right, if we lynch someone instead of curiosity, we'll almost certainly hit a townie, but the game doesn't hinge on who we lynch on the first day. There can be long term benefits to keeping Curiosity alive and if we don't see them paying off, we can kill him and go it alone as the town. If we kill him without giving him a chance, then we're making it really hard for ourselves.
