Actually, that's a co-hope - also that the supreme court doesn't find a way to agree with trump when he says that's all fraud and needs to be discounted.

Fucking appalling, especially that this is probably more because of blind "never democrat" insanity than "i love trump".

Add in the idiots who didn't vote for her because of her stance on X where Trumps stance on X is 100 times worse

After the mess of January 2021, and the slow eeking out of the news of the Capitol storming, then the court proceedings, bathrooms full of classified documents, etc… As the news slowly faded away I genuinely hoped I’d rarely to never have to read anything more about that glow-in-the-dark turd. I was hoping, but not convinced, that this election took and then inevitable uproar if he didn’t win would be the end. That he’d somehow just accept it and go back to playing golf for the rest of his natural life.

I’m going with Kamala and her winning by a surprisingly large amount. Over 300 EC votes.

Obv shenanigans will follow from Trump.

:this:

Trump's campaign this time around has been a dead duck. Stumping to paid crowds and half empty venues. It feels like the campaign is being run to keep Trump happy even though his campaign staff know it's a lost cause. There aren't any floating voters who'll jump for Trump this time around.

It's telling that the only people in work who are happy about the result are the ones who were so bad at the Christmas Quiz that you wondered how they ever got a job here in the first place.

Yep. Within 24 hours. Just needs one quick call to Vlad and all will be well.

Just like when Trump visited North Korea to sort them out ....... oh, wait.

Anyway, the wall will be finished next week, all illegals will be deported before Christmas, monkey pox will be cured by injecting liquidised bananas into the whole population by 'medical doctors,' all political opponents will go straight to jail without passing Go or collecting $200, the country will be great again by new year and he can spend the rest of his 4 year term playing golf, but there won't be another election because they won't be needed.

And the remaining population will live happily ever after.

Putin prepares for next Special Operation in Poland, or maybe Finland.

My mum is Ukrainian, 85 and not in great health. I just need Putin to 'fall out of a window' in the short time that she's got left. Ukraine might not be free in that time but if Putin could just die that'd be dandy.

And if he could fall out of a window on to Trump, that would really make my day.

Depends on the quiz. This was a light-hearted quiz that encompassed all manner of topics. Nothing particularly difficult. It was actually shocking to me just how dumb a couple of my co-workers. To not have knowledge of any of those areas at all. It was brutal. Those are the Trump fans in the office.

Well, drat, Harris has conceded.

But at least that means SCOTUS doesn't get to trample all over that bit of the process this time.

He's got the house, the Senate and the Supreme Court. I'm hoping all that Project 2025 shit was just a conspiracy because he can do whatever he wants now.

My hope though is that him playing to the 'devout' christian vote is over now. There's no Trump 2028 now obviously so hopefully he just sticks to keeping the country running and doesn't implement any bullshit policies.

It'll be horrible to see him pardon all the Jan 6 nutcases though. I mean they literally killed a cop.

The first person he's going to pardon will be himself. Then Rudy.

Some of the proposed plans are absolutely batshit crazy.

Putting anti-vax RFK Jr in charge of public health?

Abolishing the department for education?

Putting mElon in charge of a new Department Of Government Efficiency so he can cull hundreds of thousands of jobs, just so he can make DOGE jokes and channel more money to SpaceX?

Or just push the interfering down to State level, where the local crazies can really get freaky with it.

Yep, give it states to run, plus allow more opportunities to run schools for profit.

I don't follow religiously but Jonathan Pie does manage to be outraged-funny whilst thought-provoking. Better than Charlie Brooker, dare I say.

Slowly returning to regularly thinking about politics and the world after a few weeks' of limiting myself for self-care after that thing that happened across the Atlantic in early November.

Decided that the Assisted Dying Bill is necessary, no matter how uncomfortable I sometimes feel around the topic, as it's better to have legal clarity then the current approach of looking the other way.

It definitely needs the proper safeguards though or else I don't think I'd live to see the end of this fucking Teams meeting.

I agree it's necessary, but I feel that the safeguards on this bill aren't good enough, and it's not practicable.

Bill
