Ooh tricky, I love long anthemic stuff like the Seer track but Hayseed Dixie!

It's not "Maybe I was born to die in France" or "Set myself on fire" but Hayseed!

Well I've cast my votes for Group A. This is going to take a while!

Not a bad tune amoungst them. Nice work, everyone involved.

The Seer song really, really reminds me of The Asphalt World.

Indeed. Speaking as the person who got to hear all of the songs before everyone else, the standard is very high indeed. With round two being all cover versions (and as such, even when you've not heard of each act being nominated, the songs are likely to strike a familiar tone), it's going to get even better. This is a very good thing.

I'll always be in love with John Cale's Paris 1919.

I'll have to wait 'till Sunday night for most of my voting though. Off out in Weston-Super-Mare Friday night and all Saturday - lord help me.

Sorry, I've just thrown my Soupy Sales record out of the window, I'd always assumed that his Muck-Arty Park was an original, now I know that it is a Weird Al Yankovich style specific parody of MacArthur Park. :(

Hello, I picked a.P.A.t.T because of its wonderful tale of stalking, skull fuckery and reliefing oneself in a dead girls face. I was sure that alone would at least get me 1 point from everyone and its catchy as fuck, your all broken. Also I can see his voice being a turn off but how else are you meant to sing those lyrics?

Well, I liked it - it got a point from me.

I've nothing interesting to add about Paris 1919, except that I've loved it since the first time I heard it (so I thought it might work well on here, as it doesn't seem to need repetition or familiarity to gain affection), and I'm going to have it as part of the pre-ceremony music at my wedding on Saturday.

Hey, congratulations Nik! If I'd known, an ace theme would have been "suggest a song for Nik's wedding".

Thanks! That'd be about a year too late - the playlists have been complied with military precision.
