My neighbours on one side are hand building a shed so a lot of sawing and banging, the other side are having a new drive laid, so a lot of pneumatic drills.

Today is going to be a long long day :'(

Velo. A Dawes Horizon Tourer in teal. I’ve still got it, but haven’t ridden it in about 20 years. Maybe I’ll start cycling again when I retire.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but Maggie H in our local 'Nextdoor' group has posted the following:

Maggie H wrote:
Grafiti. I live in an end house and have a large brick side elevation facing onto the road. I noticed two large words carefully written on it today. POO WEE. This is not the usual style of writing we see often neither is it a messy scrawl with a spray can. It looks very deliberate and I have no idea how to remove it yet. I intend to inform the police of this vandalism.

Oh, bless Maggie. We need to protect people like her at all costs (whilst also stopping her from wasting police time).

Tell her you can come round and scrawl 'DAVE FROM ELSEMERE PORT' in bad hand writing if she'd prefer.

Wtf is Roblox, is it suitable for 8 year old, and can I lock it down so she doesn't spend all the cashmonies on stuff, and can you make sure she won't get groomed via the chat?

Also, why did I buy a Switch with all those games?

From what I gather Roblox is harmless enough as a player, you should be able to lock it down.

Their business practices are pretty damned questionable though, check out the two recent videos on the People Make Games channel on YouTube.

There was two foxes in my garden this morning. I knew there was one who lived locally but didn't know there was a second. Nice.

Ultra high res photo of The Night Watch , which you can just keep zooming in

Quote:
Ultra high resolution photo
From the series Operation Night Watch

Night Watch, Militia Company of District II under the Command of Captain Frans Banninck Cocq, Rembrandt van Rijn, 1642

This is the largest and most detailed photo ever taken of a work of art. It is 717 gigapixels, or 717,000,000,000 pixels, in size.

The distance between two pixels is 5 micrometres (0.005 millimetre), which means that one pixel is smaller than a human red blood cell.

The team used a 100-megapixel Hasselblad H6D 400 MS-camera to make 8439 individual photos measuring 5.5cm x 4.1cm. Artificial intelligence was used to stitch these smaller photographs together to form the final large image, with a total file size of 5.6 terabytes.
