Such a nice day that I thought to stick a book in my bag as I wandered to the Post Office, then read a whole book on the way back, all outside. It felt like an enormous change from the norm.

Ah yes, this is not clear. I walked to the Post Office. Then I stopped only a few metres from the PO, sat down on a bench by the River Lea, and read half a book. Then I needed a pee, so I finished my walk, via a remote-ish woody bit, and sat in the garden to finish the book.

ah! That sounds most excellent and lovely.

I've always been suspicious of book walkers.

Oh, who did you use? My landing is DRIVING ME MAD. Parts of it feel like they're sinking, and other parts are squeaky as hell. I was looking around for someone to come and fix it yesterday but wasn't sure who the best person to use would be (carpenter type person or builder or what!)

1. My neighbour told me that she saw a hedgehog in my garden.
2. I have ordered a new coffee table meaning I'll finally be motivated to remove the crap from the old one.
3. I'm pleased with how well my draw-the-art round worked last night and everyone's clear enjoyment of it.
4. I just looked out of my window and saw six birds on my two feeders, and four more nibbling up the ground seed.
5. Day off, so got up later than normal, cooked cheeseburgers for breakfast, cleared and dismantled the old coffee table, and built a new one.
6. Marked the space I wanted to develop in my garden out with weed fabric, developed a plan for it, and ordered the planter kit I need.
7.Sitting in my garden, reading a book, and drinking beer. Sure, my fleece might be zipped up to my chin and my knuckles are turning an interesting shade of purple but the sun's out, some of my crocuses are blooming, and Spring is in the air.
8. Cooked a tasty curry and was a bit more adventurous with it than normal, even preparing a marinade in the morning ahead of time.
9. Quiz! Cheered me up no end.
10. Gave an excellent presentation at work
11. Train ride!
12. Drank beer and read.
13. Thrilling rugby!
14. Finished a book
15. Five pointer on 'Only Connect'
16. Quiz! Especially the puppy pics.
17. Drank a lot of beer!

All this work I can now afford, seem to be making a positive impact on me, and I feel a lot better. As the house was getting me down.

Darwin woke us up with about fifty April Fools jokes in a row, but then really did believe Russell when he told him that his school was moved overnight and was now on the moon, so they couldn’t walk to school today and he’d have to go in a rocket instead.

We had the bi-folds fully open for most of yesterday (until Topher saw a field mouse I had disturbed, grabbed it and went bounding towards Joans in the extension while I was yelling down the garden not to let him in and Joans in one pretty swift move managed to flail his arms at the cat and close the bi-folds).
