I have a power shower that I can turn on remotely from next to my bed, so it heats up to my preset temperature before I have to move.

Don't use it every day though, because I'm scummy.

Didn't we establish a while ago that said shower is broken? MrChris revealed the truth at the time.

Nah, it's just that the uptake wasn't massive last time so I thought perhaps we'd had our fill for a while.

For the past 3 months or so I've had no end of trouble with returning goods and dealing with stupid call centers trying to change suppliers for many things. Last week I decided to contact Samsung about a small mark that was noticable on my 32" LCD tv, it looked like a smudge when the screen displayed flat areas of mid blues or greys (ie LOTS when on my 360). I decided to contact them about the problem to see if there was something they could do.

Gobsmackingly then sent someone TO MY HOUSE to look at the problem TODAY ( I called on Sunday evening at 7pm) and I'm getting a new panel fitted next week. AWESOME.

Compare that to the 5 weeks it has taken to get a pair of cosmetically damaged speakers replaced through PCworld online.

I only had two weeks left on my 12 month warranty too. So glad I decided to make that call.

How can they possibly criticise the film when they haven't seen it?

Haha. Nice. I find this quote amusing too:
Quote:
"Blind people in this film are portrayed as incompetent, filthy, vicious, and depraved. They are unable to do even the simplest things like dressing, bathing, and finding the bathroom.

"The truth is that blind people regularly do all of the same things that sighted people do."

Yes, of course they can. However, the film isn't about blind people, it's about normal people that suddenly turn blind and therefore are gonna be struggling to do the things that people take forgranted.

You pillock.

Surely people suddenly struck blind with no-one around to help would have trouble doing those things?

EDIT - Bloody Gazchap.

This just made me laugh out loud from uk.rec.motorcycles:

Quote:
One of my mates installs cavity wall insulation. Last week they were
doing a house in Berkhamstead and one particular section was taking an
age to fill. Carl stopped the machine and went inside to see if
something was up, only to find the bathroom absolutely full of
insulating material. The fuckwit house owner had removed an interior
brick to fit a soap dish in the wall alongside the bath about 5 years
previously, and all the insulating material was coming through the hole
into the room. It took them 2 hours to hoover it all up.

Regarding the shower in the house I shared with MyFinger and Metal Angel:

I wrote:
The shower in CroftStreet is clear and conclusive proof that there is no god, for no merciful deity would tolerate such bad design in its creation. It has two temperature settings: Frozen Wastes and Boiling Magma Ain't Got Nothing On Me, Baby. Similarly, it comes equipped with two pressure settings, Shit and None. To add spice to the experience, whilst the temperature may be selected by the handy dial on the front of the unit, the pressure varies randomly during the showering experience according to the usage of taps over a five-mile radius. When I find the bloke in Canton who's flushing his loo as I get under the superheated stream, I'm going to kill the bastard.

The Egg wrote:
You didn't mention the small reservoir of water that collects just in front of the bathroom door everytime anyone so much as looks at the shower. Thus setting a trap for any unsuspecting sock wearer.

Or you could have mentioned that the genius who built the cubicle after designing it around the dimensions of his four year old daughter, there's hardly enough room to make the reflexive leap as the water switches from super heated steam to liquid ice cube.

A company called Unicom just phoned me up and pretended they had an appointment to meet me tomorrow. Somehow (can't imagine how) this offended me to the point where the girl on the phone was lying to me so much I had to say the phrase "no" to her 27 times over and over again before hanging up.

10 seconds after putting the phone down the bastards tried it again, however this time I just ended up shouting "NO!" down the phone at them.

Shower of bastards. Where's CG and his chainsaw when you need him?

No, actually, I didn't think it was very nice. The message was actually more about how I am seemingly more often quite often nasty.

Mali, I forgive the misunderstanding, you're actually one of my top people on here, and I didn't want to say who it was because I don't think who said it is at all important, but this really has left a bad taste. If I am often nasty then I apologise, it is not something I ever mean to be.

Shin, I admit to you thatt I sometimes avoid replying to you since the times you misconstrued totally what I meant when saying I thought you were a bit 'more bolshy' and translating that into me saying you were a 'mouthy skip-rat of a girl', which really really upset me at the time. So, I have if anything tried not to reply too directly in a way that might be misunderstood.

I actually didn't think that what I said above could have been misunderstood in that way, but obviously I was wrong. It is perhaps a failure of mine in my communication, but I didn't want to cause upset and certaily didn't want to feel upset but if I am doing this more often then I really need to start rethinking what I say to people.

Mali, I didn't want you brought into it, it was a PM and I didn't want to say who from (because for a start I don't think who said it was important), but if one person thinks that then probably others do, too, so I want to clear that up.

Yes, this has upset me, more than it should, and I know that people that care about me often get quite angry with me when 'stupid internet things' upset me, and maybe they are right, but I see many of the communications I have with people on here as actual friendships, especially with the people that drop me a PM every now and again and have been kind and generous in their care, so really things like this do bother me greatly.

Anyway, usually someone around now who enjoys a bit of bother turns up and says 'wind your neck in' as they always do when I feel strongly or have an opinion about anything, so I am going to go off and do my own thing and try not to let this upset me any further and to be more mindful of what I say in the future.

*Sighs*

If you read back to the bolshy thing I said that I termed someone as being a mouthy skip rat, I never actually said you thought of me as one otherwise I would have had a right bloody go at you, which I didn't. but we are splittling hairs here by going over old ground when there really isn't any need for that because that's daft.

You really shouldn't get wound up or upset by things like this Mimi, it's silly, especially if it's to do with me. If I was genuinely upset or cross with something someone had said I would PM them, or ignore it completely, or-as I did-reiterate what I meant.

Noone see's eye-to-eye all the time so there's no need to get upset, it's very easy for people not to understand things that people type on here because people can't 'say' what they mean and people read it differently, or how they would say it themselves.

I don't imagine anyone is going to tell you to wind your neck in at all if it genuinely upsets you. But there really is no need

I couldn't have wished for a better reply.

This beats the time I told a girl at work that Argos was the Greek God of shopping x 1000,000.
