Another year and another attempt to guess how much money your going to spend on gaming !

Any hardware your looking at picking up ?

Are there big games you are going to grab on day 1 - or will you wait for the magic £20 mark ?

Post your estimate here and try and keep track of just how much money you are throwing away when instead you could be outside !

I'll be getting a new PC this year, and possibly one or both of the new consoles, depending on how tasty they are, so straight into mental category.

I will fund this largesse by not changing my car at the 12 month's ownership mark (which arrives in May of 2020).

I really will try to follow this this year after getting a surprise after doing my accounts of about £120 pm last year. That's a bit too much so I'll use this to keep it in check hopefully.

£500. This is what I spent in 2019 minus the cost of my monitor. I can’t see myself getting any hardware at all in 2020 with the possible exception of a new CPU.

I'll almost certainly grab a PS5 which is predicted to come in at, what, £500? So add in another couple of hundred for games and I'll guess £700.

Every year I underestimate how much I'm going to spend... So let's say £1000-£1200 and we'll see how I get on.

I underestimated by £1k for 2019, but I've gone for the same estimate for 2020 (£200-£300). There's not much I want at the moment besides a cheap Vectrex and some more ST-V games. Most modern games don't hold my attention for long, so I can see me just revisiting older stuff.

Is there such thing as a cheap Vectrex?

The year that the PS5 is released seems like a bad time to buy a PS4 Pro, especially as the PS5 will be backwards compatible with the games and PSVR hardware.

Depends what they’re discounted to.

I've gone £1200-£1500.

I'm actually amazed at how much I spent last year, but I did get into the console race and upgraded two PCs.

I do expect to spend way less this year but I guess that'll depend on the new consoles.

Apparently the current high end consoles will become the next gen entry level consoles so you won't miss out on games if you already have those.

I'm honestly thinking that I'd like a more powerful Xbox, yet could live with the PS4 pro so I don't miss out on stuff like TLOU 2.

Citation needed, because that sounds really unlikely, especially on the Sony side.

<98.97> Various card packs for Hearthstone, we got £100 cashback on a new washer dryer a couple of months ago but I chose to take it as a 'Virtual Mastercard' and fuck me they're a ballache to use, so in the end I've just dumped it into Hearthstone as I was able to add the virtual card as a payment method, milk it, and then go back to my original payment method. Also, I've spent fucktons of arcane dust crafting cards this expansion and my supply is getting low so this will be a nice refill, and hopefully get some good new cards as well.

Yes but I won £165 on the machines in the pubs yesterday so it all evens out in the end or something.

Besides which, Hearthstone is either my most played game ever or second most played game ever (it's jousting with WoW), I reckon 5000 hours playtime is about right.

£36 on Pac-Man is an interesting choice in this day and age.

I agree but it does complete the Pac-man world trilogy for me. These two are on the Gamecube so that goes some way to explaining why they're a little more expensive.
