Oh my god, oh my god, squeeeee!

Why is there no mention in this artical that you can be your Mii?!

Watch the video: http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=12295

Starts off looking just like GC version bu with the globe scrolling world of teh DS version, no change, no change - hmm, looks a bit similar and then - shopping plaza - go to the hairdressers salon and then LOOK!

Well at least it won't be a MMO-type game.

I thought I read somewhere it will be later this year. Considering what happened to Mario Kart this might even be true.

My girlfriend played the Gamecube one to death and I made sure she skipped the DS one so there be even more new thing for her to do on the Wii. It does seem the Wii is the best platform for Animal Crossing, what with the pointer and the sending item/messages to people.

I don't know - ds input is a great way to send messages - if it has been established that there is a ds/wii connection in the game maybe it will let you use it to send messages. The DS version is a great game - bad bluecup!

I read a while ago that they said a Japanese release at the end of this year, but who knows when it will get a european release - I hope not too distant...

Oh and I remember they said a DS link up would be allowed so you could draw your clothes using the DS.

The Mii in teh video looks just like my MiiMii! (but with not so nice hair)

I know, I know, I must.

Unless they are talking about greetings, days of the week or materials (wood, water, air) then I'm stumped.

HOLD ON - that's EXACTLY what they DO talk about!

Well I figured that there will be even more things for my girlfriend to discover on the Wii version other than her going "Oh, that was already on the DS". And how can I be bad? I will be the one who will end up buying it for her and me. ;)

(I also played the DS one just a little too much)

With the expanded internet stuff on the wii, I just think it's going to be the best that Animal Crossing is going to be. It was always limited on the Gamecube (using memory cards to visit someone else's town???) and the DS required the other user to be online for any sort of interaction. By with the Wiiconnect24 you can send someone an item and they can pick it up whenever they turn the game on. I just feel on the Wii it's going to be the game that it always wanted to be.

I don't think they have a word for Fish. Everything is fish over there, so it's just a given.

not really time for the dedication a new Animal crossing would order me...

How about a free animal crossing design with every purchase (for interested Wii types) in future on your sight, Mimi?!

Am excited about this, though I still don't really know why I put so much time into AC.

Ooh, hehe, that could work, couldn't it - if you can store them to DS cards.

I could definitely do that.

UK Resistance, who had possibly the world's only 99.99999% complete AC:WW town (before losing their DS with it inside) don't seem too impressed.

Not impressed at all. I was kind of hoping for, you know, different stuff, but it's looking disturbingly similar to the DS version. Until I saw the Town Centre bit I was actually thinking it was an old trailer for the DS or GC games to be honest.

Let's hope future trailers actually show some innovative new ideas or it'll be staying on the shelf as far as I'm concerned.

Ah. Mrs. Goatboy doesn't like it because it has 'the stupid curvy earth thing' from the DS version, which she didn;t bother with in the end. She wants proper animal crossing like the Gamecube.

I much prefer the rolling earth - I hated having to go from stationary square to the next when looking for the turkey in the GC one.

Or girlfriend and other female people you know.

I've managed to get these people addicted to Animal Crossing: my sister, my mum, my girlfriend, the woman who pays my girlfriend's wages, and both my girlfriend's sisters. Four of them bought their own DS Lites too. Maybe Nintendo should pay me commission...

Yes, yes - I hear that a lot ;)

I just read this on Wikipaedophilia (I wonder if such a place exists)

Anyway, er

Did they? I can't see this mentioned anywhere on my extensive internet trawl. Last I heard they hoped to have it released in Japan by the end of the year. So I expected a US release to be next year, and Europe eventually limping in around autumn 2013.

On Nov. 16, Animal Crossing®: City Folk lets players move into a fun community populated by quirky animals. Players can improve their community, chat with the locals or just spend the day fishing and collecting fossils. There is also the opportunity to catch a bus into the new urban city area. Though you’ll never see other players in the city, you can connect with them in new ways using WiiConnect24, such as bidding on your friends’ items at the auction house or visiting the Happy Room Academy headquarters to see the top-rated player house. Another new feature in Animal Crossing®: City Folk is the ability to visit friends’ towns and chat with one another using the new WiiSpeak microphone. The WiiSpeak microphone is sold separately at an MSRP of $29.99 and allows Internet voice chat among Wii Friends – not just from person to person but from room to room.

sorry - I realise that Lave spoke about the microphone in another thread, but I only just found out.

So, finally, nintendo voice chat.

I just watched the video again and at about ten seconds in there appears to be a monkey (or, more precisely, it looks like a ring tailed lemur). There have only ever been monkeys as train station guards before now.

ooh, it is though. It is like Animal Crossing, but with more.

You can chat to your friends in your town. There is a little city with an auction house, a theatre, all sorts of funky stuff.

I actually cannot wait! :smug:

Play.com has the almost certainly completely nonsense release date of the 14th of November for AC:CF. Is that the U.S. release date? Is it even possible that they'd grant us a same day release? :o

Ooh, i did here this before, Romanista, it's especially good because I have quite a lot of designs on my DS town that I hope to import to the wii town to share with people (I have paving stones with my face on them, just in case you've ever wanted to stamp on my nose, or something, or decorate your walls with me, or wear me as a fetching jumper. Hmmmm. Anyway, no, not just me - lots of monkey designs, of course!

I think being able to play with Miis is great - I like identifying them with the people who play - I will wander orund my little town talking to my friends miis, woooooo!

Be really interested to hear what you think of it, Meems. Mrs. Rodafowa hasn't asked for it but loved the DS version, so if it's any good it'll make an excellent surprise ChrissiePressie.

You are given the option at the beginning of importing your town from Animal Crossing DS. I have chosen to start a new life, afresh.

Up to four (real-life) people can share a town, and unlike the DS version you each get your own house to furnish, which is nice as I didn't like the change to a shared house on teh DS. The houses do each have multiple rooms though, which is also better than the single-room thing from GC.

I had been told that in the Wii Animal Crossing, the houses are laid out like the houses in the Gamecube AC, i.e. a ground floor, basement and upper floor. I would hope that to be wrong, however - I've always preferred the layout of the houses in Wild World.

Incidentally I know of two people who bought their own DS Lites and copies of AC:WW because they didn't like sharing a house. Great money spinner for Nintendo, that.

You are given the option at the beginning of importing your town from Animal Crossing DS. I have chosen to start a new life, afresh.

OMG, earlier I actually almost posted, 'Does it give you the option of transferring your saved game across from the DS version, what with them being the same game and all?', but then thought I might be trying Mimistletoe's patience. :(
