I think I could be convinced to play this. They'd have to make it a damned sight prettier, though. Why are MMOs so ugly? Grr.
But anyway. The MMO market is now so crowded that apparently you need a huge name like Halo or Warhammer to get your foot in the door, but here's Grim...'s hint for the day: Stop making them all the same, you dicks!

I've only quickly skim-read the article but does it say the format? I assume PC? One of the reasons I don't play MMOs is down to my PC not being the greatest but I'd probably try one on the 360 - I'm surprised there haven't been more attempted. Phantasy Star and isn't there a FFXI game too?

Didn't this already get cancelled?

EDIT : And the article says it was. Am I in bizzaro land today?

I assumed Grim was talking hypothetically about an MMO but maybe I'm wrong?

Yeah, sorry for the lack of clearness. You can add Test Drive Unlimited to your 360 MMO list.

TDU is about 20% of the way there. In about 20 years they'll be able to do it 100% and replace the entire traffic with just people playing and it'll be awesome.

In theory it'd be awesome - in practice it'll probably be a complete mess as everyone just drives all over the place.

It would have to be very smart at ghosting cars certainly. I don't think it'd be a much bigger problem than high end characters going around being shits in MMOs although I've not played enough to really know.

Certainly it'd be ace to be able to set up a TDU instance with the people you actually want on there.

That would do me. I would've thought they'd be able to achieve that with another game update but I can't see that happening.

Nah, but it's certainly a good possibility for the 2nd that they're all but confirmed to be working on.

I might write them a very long letter of advice. It'll probably get ignored of course but you never know.

You'll have much better luck getting into the same instance if you do it somewhere quiet - if you insist on doing it in the middle of Honolulu you're guaranteed problems, but if you do it somewhere remote it tends to be fine - for this reason many of the cruises on the Atari forums started from the lighthouse in the northwest.

Yeah it's doable but something that fundamental really shouldn't be that much hassle.
