But, but, but....

I think it's good because it's the first JRPG I played. You get to enjoy one JRPG before you realise how hatefully grindy and identikit they are.

I chose 'not good' because I haven't played it. Anything I haven't deigned to pay any attention to can't be very good at all.

Pokémon Yellow was my first JRPG. I guess that makes me a pretty big kvlt, or something similar.

Anyway, I voted good, because I played it and finished it. Wouldn't play it again though.

It's like if Monkey Island had you play and get a minimum score on mini brain training games every time you left a screen.

You didn't bother obtaining the materia to reduce the frequency of random battles then?

Can't remember for sure, but isn't that one jsut lying on the floor rather than having to race for it. I don't remember playing a lot of races certainly, and I had one of each to increase and decrease the frequency of battles.

Breeding your own chocobos was a licence to print GP at the gold saucer.

FF7 was, is, and remains, fucking awesome. Fin.

I've played it about five times, and I've still never bothered to breed chocobos, so i've never seen the elusive Knights of the Round.

Fuck me, that means you've never killed the underwater Weapon then.

The only way to kill that is Knights of Round and Mimic, with a bit of Pheonix junctioned to Final Attack. Seriously, it took me ages to build my character in just the right way to kill that thing. Phew.

I have not. So many things I mean to do each time I play. And I now have borrowed it back from the friend I lent it to; you're tempting me to play again!

You could build a chain of 12 Knights of the Round that way - trigger it, go shopping, and it's still running when you get back.....

I really really liked it back in the day, lost my save near the very end and never returned to it though.

Fill my materia slots!

Frequency of random battles was arse though.

On the whole though, yes good.

Ah! Probably the first ever game where I completely fell for the pre-release hype, only to be massively disappointed when I finally scrounged together the cash (I was a student at the time) to buy it.
It's fucking awful. The fact that (so far) the likeys are winning offends me greatly.

I loved FF7 and completed it twice - once after 30+ hours when I accidentally reached the end boss bit and then again after 60+ hours after doing all that chocobo stuff and getting the rarer materia. I doubt I'll ever play it again though, despite there being some brilliant bits like the excellent snowboarding section, which in the main game was a one-off section which determined which bit of the map you ended up in, but at the arcade was a really well put together mini-game.

Parents wouldn't buy me a BBC or a speccy or anything like that so would play round a mates. Then finally wangled a master system when all the cool rich kids had moved onto Mega Drives and SNESs. Then got an Amiga (1200!), so no JRPGs there. Then a PS1.

Thats not that mental surely.

It's appallingly shite. Dudley has summed up the major problem with it in his early *RANDOM BATTLE* post, and then you just bolt on all the more minor irritants like the utterly crap story and script, the shitty annoying minigames, the stupid combat system and THE FUCKING CHOCOBOS and you're there.

It is NOT! It's one of the best games there is! The FF series has had a few let down's with recent productions (FFX-2...oh good god why) but 7 is still a firm favourite as it revolutionised the way FF looked and how you could interact with it and for that I love it

CHOCOBO'S RULE! And so do Moogles. I have a Moogle on my bed ^.^

Not when I looked last night as I recall.

Regardless, even at this result it's nice to see someone other than me can see through the 5th generation's Rise of the Robots style "Emperor's new clothes" of a video game.

It was 18:13, although at least one of the thirteen was Myp, who hadn't played it.

It's so bad its badness can affect you from across the room, without even having played it, so Myp's vote counts.
