I'm in central London on Saturday 24 July. Anyone around in the early evening (or later) and fancy a drink somewhere in the gleaming metropolis?

Regrettably, whilst I'm roughly in the area (I'll be in Hemel Hempstead) I will be attending my brother's wedding. Otherwise I'd have been there.

I rarely plan that far ahead. Also I have two friends with birthdays on the 23rd, however, if I am free, I should be able to turn up, get drunk, and shout at you.

I'm in Wales that weekend taking my daughter to an orientation weekend at Atlantic College and I think we're actually expected to attend a barbecue at the college on that actual night.

I am in central London and can be free from 17:00. Anyone know of any decent pub in the area, if people are around and fancy a drink with me plus, possibly, one or two friends of mine. Somewhere reasonable with food near Trafagaler Square would be a good start.

Hmm. Obviously the places near (and not so near) Traf Square are over-priced tourist traps.
I don't mind that so much (Opal bar nearby is good, we had the Beex Christmas meet there, although the drinks literally cost twice as much on Saturdays), but, well, just stating the obvious.

Ok, currently I'm planning to be in the Old Shades, 37 Whitehall, from 19:00. Naturally, if we move due it being busy/crap/etc I'll happily let people know, and if anyone knows of anywhere better in that area please tell me (I've more or less dropped a pin in a map).
