Another German politician loses their doctorate over plagiarism charges. This has become quite a recurring theme in recent years. No doubt there are more to come.

I have to admire the determination of the mother. The rear tyre of her car was flat and smoking so I tapped on the window and she said "I know it's flat, thanks, but i have to get my daughter to school".

Oh, that is a bit of a shame. You need to be a "pro" or "semi pro" bull rider to participate and a lcience from a reputable organisation. That must be a right fucker to obtain

Head of other department just stopped for a quick chat:

"I've seen you've thrown your hat into the ring for <internal job>, MaliA"
"Yes. It looks really a really interesting position. I really do quite like it here, and I'd very much like to stay, on a permanent contract, rather than the three month I am on at present, so it seems a natural progression"
"Jolly good, I'll let you know, we should have movement by the end of the week or so."

Seems better than "HAHAHAHAHAH!"

We'll have to wait and see I suppose. As part of the application process, it says "have you told your line manager you are applying?" so that was "Hey, James, I'm applying for this position here as it is a permanent one". I haven't told him about the other interviews I have had recently.

Interesting application process. I hope you used a sombrero.

Also, Mrs T is having 7 (yes 7, count them, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7) bridesmaids!

Well, 3 of them are my nieces who are 8, 5 and 3, and we are having them because of cute. Technically they are just having a pretty dress and getting to walk down the aisle and that's it. The others are her sister and 3 friends, who are the proper bridesmaids.

Demand Maria Whittaker and Wolf from Gladiator as chief bridesmaid and best man, then walk down to the aisle to the wedding march from Flash Gordon.

Recruitment person got an email almost straight away from the man I spoke to. He thought it went “very well” and would like to progress it to the next stage, a formal interview. Hurrah!

I told him that I'm "always open to a good offer" when it comes to discussing salary packages and my usual brilliant interview answer questions. You would have been proud of me, standing outside the building in temperatures below freezing on the phone.

I'm going to suggest that a subscription to academic journals might be advantageous in the long run as you'd end up with more educated staff, and things like that, and it is cheaper than getting outside people in. Visionary people person, me.

Spending £15 a month to have a linked in sign with "ask me about loom" above my name probably is not worth it as most recruiters jobsite or monster it seems.

AE Jnr is lacking in basic social skills.

One of her on/off friends called Destiny just rang the front doorbell, and AE Jnr was in a 'I don't want anyone in my house' sort of mood.

She marched to the front door and as Mrs AE answered the door, declared:

'I hate people ringing my doorbell, you might go to jail Destiny.'

A bit harsh, I felt. Destiny is used to this sort of reaction and is currently chatting happily to Mrs AE downstairs. AE Jnr has returned upstairs and seems content with her proclamation.

Three job roles have come up at work. 1 x team leader for the team I work on and 2 x senior account handlers.

Not sure I'm hugely suited to either of them (that could be my lack of self confidence talking!) but think I'm going for both roles. Otherwise they won't know I want to progress with the company, I need to show ambition etc.

Still the thought of being interviewed by people who are already my superiors is more terrifying than being interviewed by strangers!
