That went ok. Although i suspect i might not go further for being too clever for the role as the man asked "why, with your education and experience do you want this role?" and looked genuinely puzzled that some guy in a pinstriped suit, white shirt and blue tie would want to work.

No shit, the account manager said "You've had a varied and chequered career to date, was it happenstance or planned to take the path you did".

I replied: "At a glance, it seems varied but using data and information... .(passim), I'm intrigued by the use of the word 'chequered', though, I consider it to be carry somewhat negative connations, that notwithstanding (anecdote about robots)".

"chequered"? 'marked by fluctuations in fortune'. Hm. Maybe, i still think it is the wrong word to use.

Luckily the next question was about my biggest weakness. <sighs>.

Sony's credit rating has now been reduced to 'junk status' (and Panasonic's, but they don't make the PS3)

Because it's expensive? And it would take a bloody long time to get through, say 120 pupils in one-on-one sessions.

Cheers boss. It felt well, but it depends on how good the other fucks are. There is another day of interviews on Thursday (more candidates, not a second round for me).

It's also actually useful :)

I don't think it would be that expensive (or take that long) if they did it four up.

They could put them through the theory test, at least.

Some do...in a way. The school my nephews go to have a deal with a company to provide cheapo Driving Lessons to kids 15 and up on private land. This year I have been mainly buying lessons for them for Christmas and Birthdays and they've really enjoyed them.

On train to Redhill to present to the Data Committee.

Just realised that due to delayed trains I was in a rush and forgot to buy a ticket.

I don't know yet. I haven't had my email to sign up for it yet. All I can tell you is that it's new and it's owned by Justin Timberlake. I don't for one second think that's enough to convince you, but it's all I have to go on.

I've decided: carpets suck. Especially in winter when the ground is boggy/muddy and there are feckin' leaves everywhere that get dragged into the house. And most especially when you have big dogs and grandsons with little regard to the (tiresome) niceties of keeping them clean.

It doesn't help when you've opted for a stupid light colour carpet that shows up every last mark. Honestly, we get through more carpet cleaning machines (the heavy duty ones at around £300 a pop) than you'd have thought possible; the fucking thing is never switched off and weighs a ton.

So basically, being confronted with worn out, tatty, shagged carpets that were supposedly "hotel quality" yet again, after a mere 2 years, I've decided to rip the entire lot out downstairs (except kitchen, which has a stone floor anyway), and replace with aged-oak engineered board timber floors. Just had the quote and fallen off my chair, but fuck it. We can't go on like this; Mrs C's back is giving up the ghost with all this dragging that infernal machine around endlessly, and the house looks shite.
