Tesco does weird shit like that. I got Size 1 nappies on the cheap for a couple of weeks before they changed the price back to a sensible one (14p per nappy instead of just under 10p, fact fans). The cheap price was only available on the smallest type of nappy (for newborns) and only on the smallest pack size. If you bought a larger pack, they were more expensive.

So I bought loads of small packs.

In case I forgot to do it at the time, Focus DIY are going out of business and have fucking loads of bargains, assuming there's stock left.

Homefront is down to £14.99 at Play (Xbox / PS3 / PC)

http://www.play.com/Search.html?searcht ... =homefront

And an offer for Microsoft points - taken from Hotukdeals

Go to I want one of those and order 2x2100 points cards for £15.85 each (£31.70)

http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/games/pl ... 21725.html

You can then use the voucher (free use to all - its on their front page) DAD30 to knock £5 off a purchase of over £30 giving a grand total of £26.70 (or £13.35 for 2100 points which is the cheapest I've seen for a while)

There are some decent looking offers on at Choices - not sure of the quality of the games, but some seem cheap enough to be worth a punt.

Stormrise £2.49
SBK X - £3.99
for example.

stormrise is worth £2.49. I have had it for 2 years and have got about 20 mins in. It is a good concept, but badly implemented.
"Verticality. Stormrise brings a new concept in Real Time Strategy (RTS) games. Simply put, verticality will give you three dimensions to think about, " and the rest of the time you will be thinking, which button am I supposed to press, how do I see that again, where is my player, wtf is happening, oh I appear to have loaded another game.

I bet the makers of Stormrise were glad Homeworld didn't do 3D RTS a full decade before they released their game.

Just taken up Photobox's offer of 60 free (6x4") prints.

Just have to pay £1.49 postage. I'll report back to see how long they take and what the quality is like.

I've always found Photobox's service to be fantastic. Very fast (ok, they were in walking distance from me so I guess the prints never had to travel far, but dispatch time was excellent) and print quality, especially of their matte prints, was great.

Snapfish's print quality, on the other hand, was awful. I had some pictures re-printed via them to give copies to my brothers, and I was genuinely upset with how shoddy they were next to the Photobox prints. Too light and a green tinge. Looked like zombie zoo day. I did eventually get my money back, but they were a pain in the backside to deal with. Photobox has good customer service in my experience, too.

Of the today stuff the Bit Trip games are great and dirt cheap, Oblivion is always worth a crack, and a lot of people liked Recettear, but I never tried it.

I will be bolding the best deals from the rest of the stuff on the SavyGamer post probably tonight.

I bought Recettear in a previous sale, but only got round to starting it yesterday. It's pretty good - a basic shop management/haggling think mixed with an RPG-Lite type thing. Fair bit of hand-holding to begin with, but looks like there's a lot of game there for the money.

I've also gone for Still Life 2 at £3.99. GJ and I played through the original on the Xbox ages ago, so it'll be nice to see how the story continues, as long as there are no infuriating puzzles like one or two of the originals.

Some bargaintastic goodness in the Steam sale today, I'd recommend:

JUST CAUSE 2 at £3.49 - Awesome open world game that a lot of folks reckon to be better than GTAIV. Personally I found it a little bit unfocused in places but still had a lot of fun with it. Needs a pretty hefty PC to chuck it around nicely though. For £3.49 though, how far wrong can you go?

THE COMPLETE 'OLD' GTA COLLECTION (the original top-down GTA right through to GTA San Andreas) at £4.24 (!) - Not sure how some of these will have aged, but they'll run well on pretty much any old PC now and I'm sure they'll be a decent nostalgia trip if nothing else. And Vice City was always a riot.

BRAID at £1.74 - Didn't float my boat but it's generally extremely well regarded and it has hauntingly beautiful music. Pretty much runs on a typewriter.

CODBLOPS at £26.79 - If you like that sort of thing I suppose.....

Steam really is so fucking awesome.

Holy shit GTA3 looks as rough as a badger's arse these days, and it plays like crap too, the vehicles have absolutely no weight or momentum to them whatsoever.

My GPU shows 8% load running the game at 1920x1200 with everything turned on :D

Oh well, at least it was cheap.

Today's deals are up. Nothing too exciting from my point of view, but I picked up Torchlight for £2.59 as it a Diablo look to it.

Modern Warfare 2 is £14.99 if you like that sort of thing.

Also the excellent Defense Grid : The Awakening (awesome tower defense game with gorgeous proper 3D graphics) is a piffling £1.74.

Today's offers are up. Highlights (to me, anyway) - Frozen Synapse is £9.49 (I still haven't played the copy I bought when it came out :S ), a whole load of Doom for £4.99 and reductions to the Mount & Blade series.

Nothing really grabbing me today either. I've never played a Deus Ex game though so maybe they're worth a go at £1.49 each.

The Steam offers page seems to be struggling a bit, but today's offers include -

Batman:Arkham Asylum GOTY - £3.74
Left 4 Dead - £3.24
Left 4 Dead 2 - £3.74
or both for £5.74
Farcry 2 - £2.49. (I hated this on 360, but it's a couple of quid so might be worth a look on PC)

I might get Quake. Had the Mac OS9 version years back, will the Steam version run on OSX?

No idea on your question, but just thought I'd point out that the offer runs up until 6pm, so don't leave it too long.

The spectacularly awesome DiRT3 is £20.99 in the Steam sale today - doesn't need a ninja PC to run it nicely either.

Fallout 3 at £6.79 - didn't really float my boat TBH but the PC is the platform to play it on if you've got a reasonable system.

Mass Effect 2 at £6.80 - I know some people like these games.

Worms Reloaded at £4.49 - this is a cracking good game in multiplayer. (I've got it on the 360 so no need to get the PC version.)
