That said, for me, getting the Queen is the #1 most important thing we can do.

So, do we 'send someone outside' today in the hope of getting her, or do we sit on our hands and hope that the Marines or other friendlies can find out some useful info?

Hmm.. I can't quite get my head around the possibilities here... I will say right now that if I get facehugged in the night, I'll be the first to say it's happened.

Upon closer inspection, Craster is not actually in this game. Maybe he was Apone? Poor Apone...

I've only seen the first film. Please don't lynch me. :'(
I'll try and watch them over the course of the game so I can understand what you's lot are all talking about.

Looks like today is going to time out given the short length of time left and the complete lack of posting. Is this a good thing for us, or does it just give the aliens more time to breed/ Company to kill us.

As the numbers dwindle, day phases can pass really quickly. Is the current modkill rule going to be in effect throughout the whole game as it could have a pretty serious impact?

I'm normally a bit "meh" with the WE MUST KILL SOMEONE ON THE FIRST DAY thing, but when there is an enemy that gets stronger the longer the game lasts then it probably is a good idea.

I don't see any advantage in not lynching.. other than the fact that we're almost guaranteed to hit a colonist / someone useful by mistake :S

OTOH maybe we're due some good luck around here, can't get much worse anyway...

Fuck it - people taking risks live longer, and all that.
[vote:squirt]
Simply because of the first thing he said. I very much doubt we'll get the numbers we need anyway.

I thought a no-vote was 1 more than the amount to lynch (so that would be 11 in this case - unlikely to happen i admit)

It perhaps is in this game. The counter counts to 75%, though.

I'm waiting for the first law to kick in and for Bishop to refuse to let a human go when he knows it will end in their death.

I'd imagine there is plenty of room for some loopholes. Especially as the zeroth law could actually cause him to kill us all...

I must have been knocked out by the shock of the spaceship landing or something else equally fitting to the situation we find ourseves in (ie I've been out all day)
This situation seems much more confusing to me than any of the others I have found myself in previously so I think I'm going to try and get a handle on what's going on before I jump in with votes.

I agree with what Grim... and Kalmar have said about needing to vote on the first day. So I'm voting for that reason. I'm going to vote for Squirt simply because he has the most votes and I don't want to risk a time out later.

Hmm, as much as i don't like the first day vote there is an actual need for it in this situation compared to most. I'm not too happy about the fact there is only one person up though since I like the tactic of pushing two people and judging reactions. The day is quite short though so I don't see any way we can get a second up to the plate and it may even be a struggle to get one up to the required number! Reasons for choosing Squirt are non-existent as well as far as i can see (although I'm not familiar with Aliens so may have missed something?). All in all, I feel crap for doing it but sorry [vote:squirt]

At the end of a fraught afternoon post-crash, the Colonial Marines start to take charge. Corporal Hicks, in the shadow of his former Sergeant, with no time for a military send off, instructs Hudson to check the colony computer. With the help of Bishop, the survivors of the dropship wreckage soon learn of a remote terminal from which they can remote pilot the ancillary dropship from the Sulaco.

The decision for whom to send is a difficult one – but one that is reached quickly. With the night already falling, Corporal Dietrich, the corpsman on board is nominated. One can only assume the group don’t intend on stopping around long enough to get injured, or the Marines are simply that confident in their superior firepower.

Squirt was Corporal Dietrich.
