Were either of those played at my birthday party? I'll be angered if so.

In the 'writing awesome songs and performing them well' way. McFly shouldn't even be considered a boy band, any more than The Beatles are/were.

And anyone who doesn't appreciate how wonderful Take That are is a fooool.

Do you think this should be a new thread (mods)?

Fleetwood will be flooded with the Beardies 4-6 September. It's the Fylde Folk Festival.

There will be more Aran wool cardigans and real ale than normal. Any of you going?

I'd be tempted as we never made it to Belladrum this year, but I prefer Harris tweed to Arran wool :D

Also it depends if my folkin' pal is back from Prague by then (the rest of my chums think folk is pish & Gill is rubbish at doing stuff these days despite her love of folk music & cardigans).

Folk music and cardigans does sound like an ideal event for me. If we started incorporating granny blankets and picnics I'd be in my element. I'm doing something on the 4th though....oh ye, I have a long weekend with the missus. (That's why I'm rubbish at doing stuff these days, I'm a slave to my woman. :attitude:

The 25th is very tempting but I dont know if I'd be allowed to go...plus I don't get paid until that night :(

Hang on til I have a wee search for flight prices.

I already checked transport last week. You're much cheaper getting the train to that London from Edinbugger. Also it's much less hassle & only takes a wee while longer :DD

How much is the train? Looking at flights, I'd only be able to go if Jen wasn't coming (because she doesn't finish work til 5pm on a Friday) so I doubt she'd want that, since we only see each other weekends anyway :(

£50ish was cheapest & it went up to £200 odd for a return depending on your to & from days/times. The website's a fucking nightmare too, but it makes more sense than Ryanairs.

You can get "bargain berths" on the caledonian sleeper thingy, like 20 quid return each if you book far enough in advance.

Having a few drinks and then cheerily boarding the train and *going to bed* is acebest.

Sleeper trains are excellent.

Steam powered ones would be even better.

Craster said he didn't need to split the thread. I almost certainty don't care that it wouldn't have made any difference if he did.

Anyway Gill, London is a long way to come for one night - are there other people you'd see while you were at it?

Yes, I have a friend in London and we keep trying to arrange something but life tends to get in the way. I fear that would be the case this time as well but I always like to see if I can arrange a trip whenever I hear it mentioned. Cheap hotel, her dad owns it.

25th is pay day. And London Bridge is one of the stops on my train line into London, so I wouldn't need to fuck about with tubes and shit. Tempting, very tempting.
