I have Admiral Platinum for buildings and contents.
I was looking at the cover tonight as I get some home emergency stuff.
First observation is that the policy is total overkill for contents and includes endless stuff I don't need such cover at university.
One thing I did notice is that it says unless I have an alarm fitted they won't pay anything out if we get broken into
Is this normal? I don't ever recall getting told this by them.
Would have changed provided this year but I was away and forgot to do anything at renewal time.

Did you tell them you had an alarm?

Don't thing so, I had some thoughts of doing a wireless one myself a while ago, but the policy says it has to be a professonal install to various standards
Will call them tomorrow I guess
