Does anyone go to the pub and have 1 or 2 pints then drive home?

When I got the ferry home from Dublin last week, we were on a 8.45am 2 hour sailing. Sat next to us were 2 lorry drivers. Around an hour in to the crossing they both starting drinking pints! They had at least 2. Could have been shandy I guess but I thought it was a bit early.

If I drive to the pub or restaurant then I don't drink anything. I think the old 2 pint limit goes back to the days when larger and beer was 2-3% ABV not the 4-5.5% it is now.

Also when I drink I like to have a few and often at home feel quite pissed for a while after just say one pint, I tend to settle down a bit after a couple more, so there is no way I would feel safe driving after one even it I was under the limit.

Most of the time I don't drink at all if i'm driving. Occasionally I might have a pint, but that's it.

Never if I'm just drinking, although if I'm eating too I'll usually have a pint or a glass of wine before moving on to the soft drinks.

I could never do that, I'm either drinking or I'm not. At the weekend I will have 4 or 5 drinks, never one. In the week I don't drink at all really unless on holiday.

Aside from lemonade which I would generally drink with vodka I can't think of a single soft drink I like, so will drink water if out and driving.

4 pints. If I am feeling woozy then a line 10 mins before leaving sorts me out.

Only ever have up to 1 pint, me. I can even feel the difference after that.

I like to have a large squash and a pint after rugby, but only one. Unless I am not driving

I will admit I do occasionally drink 2 pints and still drive home. Never any more than two, and to be honest I normally drink 3.5-4% ales, not lager.

Usually drink lager Shandy if driving.

I'm getting used to the taste :)

Did anyone ever use that service where a guy would come out to you at the pub on a small bike, then he would drive you and your car home and leave on his bike?
