It will develop in one of the following ways:

1. Lace gets lynched, he is a townie.
2. The momentum swings and Comical gets lynched. He is a townie.
3. Everyone gets fedup and someone else/nobody gets lynched. Lace and Comical are both mafia and go on to win the game.

If comical is mafia and goes on to win the game the town deserve to lose.

As a roleclaimed character he's either :

1) Scum claiming to be townie , sooner or later he's going to slip up
2) The Census taker , after he's given us any useful information he's back to the same as a regular townie.

Put it this way if we're getting down to the last few people , there are still mafia / sk around and CG is still there he is *very* suspicious since its an easy kill for them and can make it easier for the mafia to outnumber the town.

In other news, [vote:lacesensor], for casting around apparantly random scummy accusations whilst barely saything anything of note.

Well I dont see any great need to push things for a lynch now before those who are at work have read the thread my thoughts are still to off Lace.

By my count he's on about 5 votes at the moment and needs 10 , there are still plenty of people who have not even posted in the thread so it may as well wait until this evening before he goes to the gallows (which is what it looks like).

If it was me and I was the census taker then I would be much more indignant about the whole thing , however I do seem to think that he's going to come out as vanilla townie and as such the town is going to hurt itself by offing him :-(

I'm not sure what you mean ?

Anyway - Of the two outed roles :

I think CG is the census taker.

If he's not then you have to consider that
He's mafia , if so I think his friends would have helped convince him to hold out and not make as bold a statement on day 1 , he was not in any immediate danger so this does look like someone pushing for something to happen.
He's some other townie role - why bother claiming ? , it doesnt help him at all
He's the SK , now this is possible but as the SK I think he'd be trying to blend into the background , as previously mentioned even if we believe he's the census taker then as the game progresses you have to doubt that.

I think Lace is a vanilla townie who is just upset that he's a plain townie and doesnt really want to get involved.
The alternatives are :
He's really the census taker , if so why isnt he arguing with CG over the situation ?
He's mafia , seems a very silly claim and where are his friends backing him up and saying that CG is the baddie
He's some other townie role , again why bother ?

One more thing for people to consider before night falls for this day :

Ask yourself what would you do if you were :

Mafia
SK
Cop
Doc
etc

There are a lot of very quiet people today , some of these may well be the town power roles being quiet , others will be the baddies trying to hide.

For the Mafia they want to kill :
The Doc
The Cop
The SK
Any townie power role
Anyone who threatens them

The SK wants to kill someone , anyone , they dont really care much who
The Cop wants to find a mafia so will probably pick one of the quieter people
The Doc wants to protect someone the SK or Mafia are targeting

This was what I meant. This never works, even if you have near irrefutable evidence and it would be madness to lie because you'd be found out near instantly the cunts will still lynch you.

Ahhh , Gothamscum , I see.

And yes , you have the mob mentality at work here , so these things happen.

The town had about 3 good chances to win that game and lost it each time , It would be nice for the town to win completly for once :-)

OK, bit tired now, been a long day at work.

I am not the Census Taker. It was a childish rebuttle to CG's hostile post towards me, which I did for a laugh for nothing other than personal gratification, and to see what would happen.

Then I actually thought about it more. CG might be the Census Taker, he might not. He is a shrewd player thats for sure. He could have done a very smart roleclaim...hmmm.

So I went with it rather than jsut saying "joke" soon after to see who would come after me, in the interest of the town. Obviously, most people beleive CG, which is fair enough, although, I repeat, he is a shrewd bar steward at this game, to his credit of course. So this leaves us with a fair few Mafia that now know I am taking the michael a bit. I wonder how many of them are voting for me right now.

To end the discussion, I'm a Vanilla Townie, having a shit start to the week and wanted to fook around a bit.

Feel free to lynch me anyway, I probably deserve it after then shens in Gotham City.
I wasn't going to play this game, or even be balloted lets say because of that, I wanted a break and assumed that I may be targetted off the bat anyway (arf arf!) but joined in because 1) I like these games and 2) it was undersubscribed.

Obv, you have to take my word for being a Vanilla Townie, but its neither here nor there to me, I've had my limited amusement out of counterclaiming :)

Peace out.

Im willing to believe lace for the moment, but surely the mafia wouldnt have voted for you at all, seeing as they would have know it was both two townies claiming the role. They could have seen it as a trap quite easily and they wouldnt have needed to vote as either lace or comical would have been killed anyway. I'm still not sure if their telling the truth but Im wiling to believe in comical aswell.

Hello chaps. I'm just back from hospital (yay. Or maybe not. My head hurts.)

I was expecting 20 pages of stuff by now, we only just have 4. Which isn't really very much. Particulary as about 50% of it is from one person. Makes it easy for quiet people to hide.

Now I want to go stretch out on my bed for a moment and have a little rest.

Yip a lot of posts from me , although this is probably my only one tonight.

We're not really anywhere closer than we were this morning , this is really the time for those people who have not had a chance during the day to post , for the town we *need* to lynch someone , if we dont have a cop then we're not really going to get any info other than number of scum from the census taker and the only way the town wins is to lynch the baddies.

Spotting them is hard if no one posts :-)

We do have until tomorrow night so loads of time but i'd think we'll need to shake things up tomorrow - each day that passes the chances are the town will lose 2 members (one SK kill / one Mafia kill) it wont take long to get us down to a very small number

Ok, it's day 1. There's 18 of us, 3-6 are Mafia, 1 is a serial killer. 11-14 are townies of some description (the lovers might mess these numbers up a bit, but I'm not too sure how to deal with them at the moment).

There's only 2 killing roles, the mafia will hit a non-mafia, the serial killer could hit anyone.
The nolynch has been the towns best friend in the early stages and unless we have a really good reason to off somebody on day one, then we could end up doing more harm than good.

I doubt that we'd be without a cop. That would seem a little harsh, IMO.

LS's story is plausible for the time being.

Evening all.

I figured LaceSensor was just a bored townie. I do, for some reason, believe Comical however. His family in other towns has a reputation, but I don't think there is a reason to suspect CG. Maybe one of the towns power-roles can investigate him at some point.

I disagree , the town *need* to lynch , its the only way for us to gain information and have a chance of offing a baddie.

Not lynching just means that the SK may get lucky (for the town) and hit a mafia but we *know* the mafia is going to off a townie so we drop one overall.

I'm not going to get much of a chance to post this morning but as a town we need to lynch someone - theres more chance of us hitting a baddie than hitting a powerful town role (in fact the only real power roles we have are doc and possibly cop).

So the player list :

The Rev Owen - has posted on the thread at the start roleclaimed townie / discussed idea of roleclaims / protection
Mr Chris - has urged the killing of CG (not entirely unexpected)
Gazchap - Posted about voting for Lacesensor and thought he may be lying about his roleclaim
Joans - ? - suggested nolynch which does put a little suspicion on you since I dont see that helping the town at all.
Bluecup - Argued and voted for Rev Owen at the start and for me
Zaphod79 - Has posted most of the thread
Curiosity - Has posted to the thread and discussed the idea of roleclaims / protections
Myoptika - Posted but seemed unsure of what to do , did vote for Lacecensor
Mr Russ - Posted on thread , had some good points about "what if's" for blackmailer so has thought about it
Plissken - Has posted to the thread
Goddess Jasmine - Single post suggesting that Lace may be mafia trying to stir things up
Runcle - Single post , unsure if lace is guilty or not and suggests caution over CG
ComicalGnomes - has posted a lot , roleclaimed Census taker (which I believe)
RichardGaywood - Has posted about the blackmail question and voted for Lace because he thought he was lying and acusing others
Dudley - Has posted and argued over points
Mr Dave - Has posted and argued over points
Lacesensor - Posted a roleclaim of census taker and recanted (I think plain townie)
Spinglo sponglo! - Hasnt posted at all ?

Okay of that lot the ones that stand out for not really doing much to me are :

Goddess Jasmine
Runcle
Spinglo sponglo

Given that a proven successful scheme in the past to get through a chunk of the game was to be very quiet and slip under the radar that makes me suspicious of these people.

Mr Chris has also been slightly suspicious since he's just voting for CG however given that no-one was really around last night to talk things over with him he did at least try to do something, and Joans post requesting a no-lynch looks slightly odd because I only see that helping the baddies.

Again - as the town we need to lynch - I'll start the days voting with :

[vote:Spinglo sponglo!] for going a whole day with no posts at all to the thread.

I've kind of had a rethink about this as I realised that we don't actually have any killing roles, so lynching is the only way we can kill anyone.
Lynch away! I guess. :hat:

Yes.

I think maybe it's time we stopped letting the baddies use being quiet as a tactic. It always seems to work, but it shouldn't, and I've argued elsewhere that the town should police quiet people and not leave it up to the person running the game to deal with them.

So [vote:Spinglo sponglo!], who isn't necessarily a baddie, but is the quietest player.

Did you not put anything about myoptika's "roleclaim" (of sorts) in your list for a reason, zaphod? Not that it really matters I guess, it doesn't seem like that much of a power-role to me - and neither does it to myp I guess, hence him putting out the blatant clues.

That's not right, Runcle has posted around 3 times and his last post was

Im willing to believe lace for the moment, but surely the mafia wouldnt have voted for you at all, seeing as they would have know it was both two townies claiming the role. They could have seen it as a trap quite easily and they wouldnt have needed to vote as either lace or comical would have been killed anyway. I'm still not sure if their telling the truth but Im wiling to believe in comical aswell.

Yes, and I guess that most other people hadn't either. Why would anyone want to draw attention to that unless they had a particular reason for doing so?

In light of Bluecup's post, zaphod is feeding us misinformation.

You said it, so you obviously wanted people to see it. The info could already be in the wrong hands before Gaz said anything.
If he is mafia he's unlikely to point it out in public as we're not going to lynch you now are we?

Well, if Zaphod79 is going to take on the role of information gatherer, as it appears he is, the more information he has the better for the town, surely? Although based on the posts above it does look like he's either lying about certain people or not paying much attention to the thread.

Ok, you have persuaded me that you were probably not doing it for nefarious reasons.

I'm always suspicious of people who make that extra effort to be useful. My thinking goes

Trying to be useful -> Wanting to stay around -> Why do they want to stay around? -> Evil Doer

I dont suspect Zaphod, wrong information or not, I do feel hes trying to liven up a quiet game with his large posts trying to find information rather than being helpful to cover his real identity. I could be wrong, probably am knowing my record, but anyway Ive re-read the thread about 3 times and really no one stands out that much, GJ and malc maybe but Im still not sure, Mr Russ for me is not very Mr Russ like and is my FOS at the moment.

Or it's his "family's" first game?

I didn't 'suggest' I asked.

I don't know what to think to be honest.

CG - could be the cencus taker
LS - no reason not to believe his post last night
Myp - No reason not to believe his role claim
Mr Chris - wants CG lynched
Zaphod - Lots of info - but that doesn't mean anything either.

So a few people who we don't know whether to believe them anyway. Great.

Yeah, I admit there is that as well.

Although I will maintain that his thinking that the extra quite are the dangerous one's is wrong. It's the people who are there but not really who are the truly dangerous. So it's the richardgaywood's, Plissken's and Gazchap's I'm suspicious of at the moment.

I'd like a vote update, but currently have nothing else to offer. LaceSensor remains a dick, but I might unvote.
