As nobody is dead, then there isn't much to say yet, really...

apart from people watching!

As for why you would donate, I assume that's for if you think you are going to die?

To not stand out.
User avatar
To clarify, having lots of money will end up with you broke or dead.

the other reason (passing wealth around to teammates to keep it safe) is both too obvious, and not conducive to the individual win condition.

Given how transient it is, I'd be mainly avoiding it until the endgame.
User avatar
Oh yeah I suppose if everyone can see how much you have, you're going to be poor by the morning

I wonder if you can steal from yourself?

There should be a night action of "hide money under mattress"

You can also donate to try and make someone a target.

Or donate to transfer your money elsewhere - given the values are there at the start of the day (and I assume at the start of every day) anyone with a bucketload of cash is going to be an obvious target

I may have not read the part about money on death still counting...
User avatar
Given money on death counting its in the mafias interest to make sure dead 'townies' dont have much money (a rich dead townie is *bad*) but in the right circumstances could you not suicide giving your team enough money for the win ?
User avatar
It does seem quite favourable for the town, as they have more collecting ability.

But I doubt anyone is playing for the team win.

I'm pretty sure that it specifically states in the rule thread than money after death only counts for the individual competition and doesn't count towards the faction tally...

As might be obvious, I still haven't read the part about money on death...

I'm not playing though, so unsurprising.
User avatar
Pff, its in the clarifications... No wonder I didn't read it.
User avatar
I'll move all the clarifications to the main post.
User avatar
If anyone misses sending in their night action, then i'm thinking about either defaulting them to make money, or telling the group tomorrow how many people failed to make a night action, otherwise trying to work out what went on overnight will be overly tricky.

What do you guys think?
User avatar
Thinking about it, i'll mention how many missed actions there were, if there are any, but not say who missed. As not taking an action is an action of sorts, so the players should still be able to do that.
User avatar
Mod kill for non participation. It is the first day, people should be trying out their powers.
User avatar
The steals happen in the order I receive them, by the way. But I'm sure they can work that out for themselves.
User avatar
I'm sure at some point they'll lynch someone. Maybe.
User avatar
Indeed, hardly the ruthless capitalists I was expecting.
User avatar
It's interesting that in a game where the only power the town have is talking and voting. They still opt to do neither...
User avatar
If I were them, Id probably be killing davpaz. Die in main to his "I'm an idiot to forgets his noght action. Oh me."

even though i'm assuming that you can make money and go a killing, it just looks a little like he's laying low.
User avatar
I'll be impressed if anyone can figure out all the night actions this time.
Still one more to come in, which is a bit annoying, as I have seen them posting today...

Is it Davpaz?

Heh, no. Everyone got back to me in time in the end.
User avatar
Well Cras, yes, there is nothing to go on if nobody ever votes for anyone :D
User avatar
Impressive stuff from Saturnalian.
I suspect he won't last the night...
User avatar
I see three problems so far . #1 - noone seems to know what anyone should do in a situation. Partially as some are playing a longer game than others
#2 - individual win conditions for the town tend to stop teamwork
but mainly #3 - It's a crap shoot. It'll likely come down to luck as to who steals from who and when on the last night basically rendering now a simple ce of stating alive
User avatar
Still want to vote for curiosity.
User avatar
lilz at my description :)

No, you dick.

Craster and Curio definitely have something going on.

Craster, Sat, Russ and a newly-added Curio are on my dodgy list - and as Sat got killed I suppose that leaves the other three.

I'd like to put Myp on it, but I know from experience he'll be belming his way through the days and have no actual plan (to go with his no actual money).

YES I KNOW YOU CAN READ THIS, DICK

[edit]WELL, NOT RIGHT NOW, OBVIOUSLY. BUT IN TIME, I MEAN
User avatar
iF i'M RIGHT, THE ONLY BREAK THE TOWN GOT WOULD BE BECAUSE TWO MAFIA STARTED VOTING FOR EACH OTHER, WHICH WOULD BE FUNNY.

Oh fuck, well, I'm not changing it now.
User avatar
Darn.
User avatar
Oh, the humanity
User avatar
This is going to be interesting. The mafia need a majority to stop the game, yet IMO have made it very obvious who two of them are. As long as the town don't belm it up, they should be able to win this.
User avatar
Bet all Mafia

It does rely on the town only voting for the obvious mafia, and not being stupid enough to vote for one of their own.

<looks at player list>

Oh.
User avatar
Well, I thought Cras was obvious mafia, so
User avatar
Surely the actions of today have highlighted 1 certain mafia, and one other extremely likely?
User avatar
I stand by my original list (minus the two that were wrong) and I'll add - um - DavPaz.

Russ, Curio and DavPaz.
User avatar
If they are mafia and haven't obtained the ability to stop a vote, they are remarkably stupid.

Which may, of course, save them.

User avatar
Curio, Zeppo and Bobby for my vote right now.
User avatar
Russ, Bobby, and Zeppo, surely!
User avatar
Nah - Curio fo'sho.
User avatar
Spreadsheet update.

Everyone invests except Cras. Obv.
User avatar
Right way up! In your face world.
User avatar
Nah, it's wrong - I stole from Myp, I didn't invest.
User avatar
I knew that. Fuck ma' spreadsheet. :(
