Be Excellent To Each Other

After doing a major re-org of my retro corner and chatting with people on sinister Twitter, I know I'm not the only person on here with a shed load of retro gear. So show us your kit!

That's mine after todays re-org. There's a Saturn shaped gap on the bottom row for when I get that out of storage. The Atari 7800 has been put away and my 464 is out of shot. The +3 has no power or display cables at the moment.

SCART wise its bloody complicated. Non switched SCART is a non starter due to machines not playing nicely with each other (the Amiga will spin the Dreamcasts drive up and turn its power light on!). So there's 3 banks of switched SCART's which all feed into an unswitched SCART box. Messy but it works + also lets me intercept the audio before it goes into the TV as I've mounted 2 speakers in middle shelf.

Top shelf sags into the middle due to an experiment with a 26 inch CRT which didn't go to plan.

The BBC is also horribly placed considering sweet FA of its games have joystick support. But at least it's out on display. The machine needs work anyway. I expect the Spectrum will suffer the same problem, so I will set it up so it and the CPC can change places depending on which is in favour at any given time.

My retro corner's not as cool, unfortunately. In fact I don't have a corner, it's just my (old and yellowed) Super Famicom connected to the living room TV, alternating with my (old and yellowed but fully RGB modded) launch model PC Engine. Only one Scart socket on the house's sole TV, you see. Super Famicom's plugged in at the moment, as my brother visited during Nondenominational Winter Festivaltime and spent a couple of days playing through my case of loose Japanese games cartridges. He had fun, because the Super Famicom is excellent.

The Samsung I am using (as recommended by Richard Happytree) only has one SCART, but I have an elaborate setup of SCART switchers to get round that. Really need a proper AV switcher but finding one that can do 9 or 10 sources at once and will play nicely with a load of elderly computers/consoles that output out of spec signals may be a challenge, let alone the need for RGB, S-Video and Composite.

Wow.. I'll get mine tidy and take some pictures this week. It'll be a good excuse to tidy up a little bit.

That CPC looks very sorry for itself. Also CPC Gryzor is supposed to be great!

No Acorns?

I'd love an 800XL. My mate had one but wouldn't sell it to me as he wanted silly money. Bet it went to landfill.

Actually I bet he still hoards it because he was tight.
