I popped along to the end of the Fortress Wales reenacting event today to hawk my wares. Armed with a big bundle of CDs packed with pictures I took I began attempting to part US Civil War dressed rubes discerning shoppers from their hard earned coin. Walked away with over £90! Though I suspect it could have been more if I'd built an 'Evans & Son' stand, wore a top-hat and repeatedly smacked the side of a demonstration framed print with a cane.

First time I'd ever really sold anything in photogging.

Though please don't ask how much I spent on train and bus tickets to get to the actual events I had to photograph to make this body of work. I want to just pretend I made a profit, okay?

Next up the book at the Bath end of year bashl, for considerably more beans.

You totally need the cane and hat.

And some of the more commercial photos pre-printed out on A4 and in some frames you can get cheap from ebay. Whack a £20 price on them and watch the money roll in.

Saturday..

Made Crasters Pulled pork!
Fixed two BMXs, WTF are there two different peddle thread sizes.
Ate Pulled pork,
Sent kids to nans house.
Went to see a local band.

Sunday,
recovered...
Fetched kids
Did gardening.
Had BBQ.

Monday.
Went on a picnic
then had another BBQ at a mates
Few beers.

Why can't all weekends be 3 days.

Oh, before I forget. After the "OK, I'll come and pick you up seeing as your bike is broken, just walk the four miles to the tea shop and I'll see you there" event, Sundays fun was packing the car up. MrsA had opened the car up and was putting the suitcase into the boot and I'd bought the bike around and loaded it in. mrsA had returned to the house, so, not having the keys, I shut the boot and went to ask her where the keys were. The keys, as it turns out were not in the car, nor were they outside the car. She had hung them from the little rubber stopper that the boot sits against. The boot that was now closed. I wasn't very happy, and it took me twenty five minutes to break into the car, reach over a bike and remove the rear light cluster and then prise the boot lid out a fraction of an inch and unhook the keys. and replace everything. She's an idiot.

Heh, Maybe I can get away with buying it, using it for the reception on the promise that I'll sell it afterwards and get the cash back!

Interestingly, going around wedding fairs, there are companies that are charging £500-ish for a games setup for your wedding reception. Which basically amounts to a TV on a stand with an Xbox and Rock Band setup...

The only saving grace is that a lot of the female cyclists have a penchant for Lycra ^TM leggings and thighs between which one could crack almonds.

Surely that would be an awful thing to do with a mystery shopper as they'd just tell the shop that the staff member was abusing the discount scheme.

Having done mystery shopping, the answer is probably not. You usually just get a questionnaire and a spending limit. Quite often you may end up going above your limit (as you're being subsidised by the mystery shopping company) so you might welcome an extra discount.

Just a theory. I also have a theory that our mods are controlled by mind eating aliens but I'll save that for another day.
