This is a good thing! Did you find a suspicious lump whilst having a vigourous fondle or something? I did once, and due to the slightly increased risk I have of contracting ball cancer, had to have my male-and-very-near-retirement doctor have a fondle too. It was most degrading.

Yup.
Not on my balls, though, thankfully.

Now they just need to speed up the "have you got cancer? y/n" process.

The only lump I've had on my face recently was your mum.

Which is the better piece of news? Seriously though, that must be a relief. I'm glad the results were in your favour.

Job update. 3 months probation completed and they didn't fire me. All security clearances have come through too, so a much wider range of work will be accessible to me.

I've clocked up over 6,000 miles in the van, have had a week in Kent, a week in London and trips to Yorkshire, Cumbria and Lincolnshire working in post offices, and trips to Edinburgh and Middlesbrough on a new project for EE. I'm seeing a lot more of the country than I ever did before, and loving it.

Indeed. I'm loving working in I.T. again, even though it's nothing much like anything I've done before. In terms of work, I'm happier now than at any time since I chose not to TUPE over to the company my department outsourced to in 2006, and ironically that's the company for which I'm now working.

One downside is that I'm out and about most of the time, hence my absence from BETEO recently.

Not really sure if this is a Yay or not, but I'll be back in the UK on the 13th June.

For about 2 weeks

Just phoned Santander to see what deals they have at the end of my current fixed rate mortgage and they've dropped the interest rate by 0.5% since I called a few months back.
I'm now paying almost £150 a month less than when I moved here a couple of years ago.

This is because I was transmitting so much torque through the back wheel the earth shifted on its axis. You might notice the day being longer, too, as I slowed the earth's rotation. After this, the tyre exploded.

The short film I art directed has been nominated for an award!! We'd already been short listed for lots of film festivals, but this kicks butt in comparison. Mostly, because of this, which I will be attending:

"Limelight Film Awards is the annual short film competition, followed by a red carpet awards ceremony, attended by over 500 film makers, celebrities and TV/ Film personalities. In its sixth year, with 12 film categories and a £10,000 production award, Limelight is paving the way in identifying emerging British film makers while helping to strengthen the industry.

The main awards night held on the 6th of June is a red carpet, paparazzi covered, champagne reception, followed by the 2 hour awards ceremony at the end of which is an after party"

ZOMG EXCITING!!!!

(Oh, and if we win, we'll make another, bigger film :) )

House sale complete. As a side-effect, I am now completely in the black for the first time in well over a decade. Pretty much on the verge of jumping on my desk and dancing around a bit.

I'm off for two weeks to a hotel with a casino in it. Chances of me remaining in the black past this weekend are pretty minimal.
