So, I have a litre of Maple Syrup here, and a Sainsbury's 5 minute walk away. What should I buy to go with it?

I love the stuff, but have only ever had it with pancakes, I feel I am massively missing out on the possibilities with this wonder food...

Maple syrup? Or "maple" syrup? If the former: golly, that's loads.

1. Make french toast and bacon.
2. Put bacon on french toast.
3. Slather in maple syrup.
4. Eat.

I prefer the fake stuff like the Aunt Jemima. The real stuff is very runny and very very strong, where as the fake stuff is nice and sticky. Real stuff is excellent for pancakes because it soaks in, but getting it to stay on a nice greasy sausage link is a pain.

Llyes do an excellent maple syrup. Well, a maple syrup flavoured syrup but yeah, it's yummy :)

fake stuff is acceptable if no other alternative is available.
I love maple syrup- ice cream, as a sweetener in cocktails, neat, in yoghurt, in coffee, neat again, with ginger wine, in my homebrew, as a sweetener in vinaigrette, did I mention neat?

I have:

Waffles
Scotch pancakes
Clotted cream
bacon
butter
blueberries
bread
eggs

I should be able to make something majestic with all those I suspect :D

Yes. Cook eggs and bacon in butter. Put on top of everything else. Add syrup.

Ever tried the coffee? A few years back my aunt and uncle went to Canada and brought me back some coffee. It was actually really nice though I wasn't expecting it to be because I ran out of sugar once and tried putting maple syrup in my coffee and it was rank.

Of course, how could I forget? maple candies. Mmm. They're kind of like those sugar mice, only they're maple syrup :droool:
