Quite random but might be of use to someone

Sign up for O2's broadband and get 2100 MS points plus a years worth of Live for £1 (and 3 months broadband for free)

http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/xbox-exclusive

Quote:
Sign up to The All Rounder or The Works package and get an entire year of Xbox LIVE Gold membership for just £1 and 2100 Microsoft Points and we’ll give you 3 months free broadband.

If you've had an O2 mobile for more than two years we'll give you 12 months half price home broadband to say thanks.

And if you've already got our home broadband, you can still get all these things. As long as you are eligible to re-sign your contract with us.

Choose the package which is right for you and call 0800 954 1401 and quote Xbox. Remember, this exclusive Xbox offer is only available by telephone.

Yeah, that turned out quite nasty, which is a real shame.

Back to Skittles for next year. Taste the rainbow!

Myp made loads of sweetie vodkas for Glastonbury one year. We sat down and tried all 14 of them. He then fell asleep and we tied him to a chair, covered him in toilet paper, and stuck gaffer tape in his hair.

Good times.

Oh, and the best flavours were Love Hearts, Fruit Salad and Tangfastics.

Dropbox users! You can get up to 5 GB of permanent bonus space by installing a beta and allowing it to upload 5 GB of photos (you can delete the photos later, but you keep the space). Details: http://thenextweb.com/mobile/2012/02/03 ... roid-beta/

Oh, right. That's not a well-explained link. Yes, you can do it on the desktop. Procedure is:

1. Install the beta
2. Plug in any camera or memory card.
3. A special "Upload your pics?" box appears. Say "yes".
4. Wait.

I've just put over 2gb of photos and videos through it, and it has currently given me an extra 800mb of space? :D
I'll see what that turns into once everything is fully synced up.

Cheers for the info, not bad for nowt.

It can be slow to realise, say the forums, but I found it worked fine. However -- it's supposed to be awarding in 500 MB increments. Are you sure? ;)

Did you start with 2 GB, though? Or have you previously earned one of the other small bonus spaces Dropbox offer (like the 256 MB for watching the intro video, or 256 MB for anyone you refer to join Dropbox)?

Ended up at 4.8gb

Client is buggy as hell though, getting it to actually auto-import is unreliable to say the least. It has only actually worked once, now it just does nothing.

Sure, but beta used to mean it is 99% ready, we just have a few kinks to work out.
Now it seems to mean, we've done 5%, lets ship it and call it a beta...

I always thought of Beta as "all the features are in". It may not be optimised (in a speed sense or a UI sense), and it will be buggy. 99% done is a release candidate - Hell, with automatic updating over the web, 90% done is your first RC, 95% done is your first release.

Beta always used to mean "It's done" but we need to check with a wider audience. Then it started to mean "It's almost done, might as well get it out there", now it means "We've done a bit, fuck it, lets release" ;)
