Right.

I hereby propose an outing to eat very expensive bits of cow.

The date I propose is Tuesday 4th October, not least because the wife and child are away then (I can work a day either way if necessary).

The location I propose is http://thehawksmoor.co.uk/

Who's with me?

I could make it Saturday 1st October if weekending it would result in a higher turnout.

One does not go to The Hawksmoor on a full stomach, Padawan.

Anyway, 7pm sound like a sensible time to book for?

How odd.

Is it just me, or has the restaurant's website been taken over by some 'web architects'?

My level of hunger rarely bears any relation to earlier meals.

7pm unavailable (typical).

6.30pm or 7.30pm?

I'd personally lean towards the 6.30 table as I work nearby to the restaurant and can't drink any booze. However, if y'all prefer 7.30 I shall book that.

Let me know.

Table booked for 4 people at 6.30pm on Tuesday at the Spitalfields Hawksmoor.

I am currently pondering just how large a steak I should have.

When I went there last, they had a 900g filet mignon crossed off on the chalkboard. My hat goes off to whoever ordered that.

Craster, probably.

My bestest steak ever was a 600g/21oz Bone-in ribeye at Joe's Steak and Crab Restaurant in Vegas. It was amazing.

I'm tempted to try a like-for-like taste test.

:D

What if your memory of the Vegas steak is faulty, though? We need a side-by-side comparison. You must buy plane tickets. The power of Science compels you.

The power of my wife exercises the veto.

The comparison will be invalid anyway, as I still can't drink, whereas with the Vegas steak I had been knocking back the wine for a bit!

Dave what comes to the quiz will also probably be joining us for this.

He's (usually) a vegetarian, though he makes very rare exceptions for high quality meat.

I'll be leaving work at 5pm because, well, fuck work, so I will be passing my time reading a book in the Big Chill Bar, which is a 5 minute stroll from our destination. Feel free to head there if you're going to be arriving before 6.20pm.

Meals are more fun with alcohol.

:(

Still, very tasty steak. The flavour of the meat was most impressive. I shall order rare next time though.
