The Enterprise is in orbit around a planet, and the Chief Engineer is taking a nice, well earned break, when the klaxons go off. Oh my word, someone has infiltrated the computers and ruined the databases (amongst other things). The transporters are down, but only after some activity was detected showing an unidentified number of other people beaming aboard.

OMG! Someone has killed Lt. Yar!

There must be Romulans on board! And possibly other bad guys!

We'd best flush 'em out... but how?

[playerlist]

Mr Russell
DavPaz
myp it
Trooper
zaphod79
flis
nickachu
KovacsC
Bobbyaro
Goddess Jasmine
Alarm

kalmar

Hero of Excellence

[/playerlist]

With 22 players, 12 votes are needed to eject someone out of an airlock, and 15 nolynch votes for no airlock action.

Day One ends at 9pm Tuesday September 6th.

Don't we have a deputy chief engineer? Jesus, there's never enough role redundancy in Starfleet.

Bloody romulans. Ever since the Tomed Incident, they've been a thorn in our sides.

Poor Tasha. At least it wasn't an oil slick monster.

I'm not sure what we should do here. Past experience of this starship is that everything will sort itself out in the next 42 minutes, but this feels different to usual?
One thing is for certain, we have unauthorised people on board and no idea what havoc they can cause! This starship is all that stands between us and certain vacuum induced death, we can't do anything that will jeopardise the safety of the many for the sake of the few.

We have to take the chance and eject someone now, we can't let them have a whole night to get up to whatever it is they are planning.

So, having said that, and a choice at random for the good of the many [vote:TheVision]

A very frightening time, what with the Eugenics wars. It's a miracle that any plays were produced at all.

You seem quite familiar with talking to the computer ..... like the voice reminded you of someone ?

Anyway - we have a limited amount of time and we should still be talking in here - we need to sort out some targets and some plans , if we have Borg onboard then we need to sort out the queen (but thats going to be a hard spot) , otherwise at some point we'll be overwhelmed <pauses for a second and things of being overwhelmed by 7 of 9>

Sorry , where was I , ah yes groups , so assuming we have a number of stowaways then we need to get people talking and see what turns up , although on screen Starfleet has a lot of power roles but we cant just sit back and think they are going to save us all !

Standard day 1 - do bugger all and see what happens. Gunning a random person down with a phaser/blowing them out an airlock (presumbly we don't do such low-tech things as lynching in the 24th century), rarely works.

But then again, stuff happening is more interesting than stuff not happening, even if its bad stuff.

If Q/romulans/vote doesn't luckily bag the borg queen, it starts to become a serious problem about day 4/5, unless roleblocking also gets lucky. So there you go, standard state of the obvious.

Indeed, yet missing the obvious. The Borg are a huge threat, if the queen is on board, but not the biggest threat yet. The greatest threat is probably Q if he has turned up? Can't be roleblocked, can't be Borg'ed. You don't even mention him as a threat, let alone the Romulans.

Dodgy, very dodgy...

Are we back to the old vote/don't vote day one argument? Personally I'm in favour of doing anything that gets people talking.

We need to find out what's going on here and who is allied with who, I don't think we'll have too much to go on until day three most likely. I'd go for a lynch, it's pretty much the only chance to take out a bad guy that us civilians have, I don't like seeing a chance go to waste, no rush though, so I will wait for some more chat before I do any accusing.

We do seem to be , and yes - I'm on the side of voting for someone to get a result , there is the chance we'll hit a good person, but we also have a chance of taking out one of the powerful baddie roles.

If we do nothing then yes , the goodies may find stuff out but the baddies will recruit / kill / and learn about stuff while the majority of the goodies know nothing

We need to find out what's going on here and who is allied with who, I don't think we'll have too much to go on until day three most likely. I'd go for a lynch, it's pretty much the only chance to take out a bad guy that us civilians have, I don't like seeing a chance go to waste, no rush though, so I will wait for some more chat before I do any accusing

And again yes , day one is just going to be random , you roll the dice and take your chance - your unlikely to see paterns , or people ganging up to go after a specific target on day 1 but people do need to look back on this and check to see if there is anything in there.

I'd also point out that again we have quiet people - its very easy for someone to come along , say a few things to get their face noticed and then retreat into the shadows again - the most powerful tool the goodies have is to talk and get others to talk.
