I think it helps if you've got good competition. The games I've had against random folk have been a bit one-sided, but I've been having some close battles with Throughsilver which have been much better.

Although Android Words With Friends is still being flaky - it's telling me it's my go in one game and then when I bring the board up, it shows me my last move, not theirs.

I should probably use Word Feud a bit more.

I play Wordfeud several times a day, and boot up WWF once or twice a week .

My last game against thermalsatsuma was really good, there were a few moves played each day and the game was played quickly plus it was pretty close throughout. My games before that were murder though, against xexyz and someone else as well I think. I'd be waiting five days+ for a move then I'd play and be left waiting ages again. I think the reason it annoyed me so much was because of some of the words being played as well, it was consistently high scoring and obscure words and it felt like the reason for the huge delays between moves was because they were trying every combination of letters possible to get the best points instead of just playing a word. I don't mind people spotting a word but not playing it straight away while they see if they can get a better one but repeatedly trying to place tiles just on the off chance is crap and it felt like that's what they were doing.
As I said though, my game against thermalsatsuma was normal and I really enjoyed it and I'm having a few good games just now against my girlfriends mum and her friends

I think time is the factor for me, I can go days without playing a turn & then I will spend one evening I can spend a few hours playing against opponents

Wordfeud has a 3 day limit which forces you to play a turn, I like it but at times I also hate the it.

Serious players play on non-random boards.

An interesting last update to WWF on IOS , now when playing tiles which make a number of words , if any of them are 'misspelt' it will tell you which ones.

So before you just tried to play and sometimes didnt know which of the words you were making were wrong but now the message says things like C*nt is not an allowed word

The Android version has done this for a bit (at least since I reinstalled for this round of the tournament). Make of that what you will.

Anyone tried Wordsmith? You can have 4 player games apparently.

Probably not, sadly. 4 player would be a nice addition to WWF or Wordfeud, wouldn't it?

Anyone else having issues with word feud on iOS?
Keeps crashing on me, I've tried a reinstall but no joy.

Same for me - it seems there are two very similar programs here :

Words With Friends generally works okay on iOS and is almost totally unusable on Android
Wordfeud generally works okay on Android and is almost totally unusable on iOS

I am 38 points up on Xexyz, with 6 letters remaining in the bag.

Unfortunately, it is his/her turn, so I won't have an update for another week.

I installed this and then my Galaxy S refused to boot so I won't be doing it again.

Having to play again isn't remotely anything like a good thing.

The messaging system no longer works in WWF. Amusingly, it "repaired" itself and I have numerous messages from a previous game in that game.

Thankfully the Facebook Beta of Words With Friends seems half-decent. Well, it works better than the Android app anyway.. although that's not saying much.

I currently have a game where it is my turn despite the fact that I used all my tiles up on the previous turn. I'm struggling to make a word, needless to say.
