Well if it showed gameplay maybe. It's a pretty enough trailer I suppose but that doesn't mean a good game.

But then I'm not a big fan of Dead Rising either.

Who knows what the game is like. Apparently open world with RPG elements. Blah blah.

But that trailer as a stand alone short film surpasses most of The Walking Dead.

EDIT: URGH, the embedded version is spammed up with ads etc. I would click through if I were you.

To be fair to dead island it was in development long before it became old hat. Original gameplay was said to be based on an open world environment where you would use any object as weapons and whack the Zombies to pulp similar to the brutal melée combat of the condemned games. Which to me sounds like proper zombie survival but that was the concept 4 years ago. There's a gameplay trailer somwhere from 2008.

I'm not, I'm just tired of zombie shooters or comedy zombie run and gunners. I want to get back to scary zombies in a Resident Evil stylee. Slow, terrifying shit backing you into a corner and hiding in your cupboards (for some reason).

Mind you, when I finally get time to get Dead Space 2 that'll probably scratch that itch, from what I've read!

I think this is the most mature video game trailer I have ever seen, in the sense of being intelligently done and provoking thought and emotion.

It just makes it look like a fairly generic zombie hack-em-up, it's going to have be really good at that to be any better than L4D or L4D2.

The first trailer promised some characterisation behind the slaughter, the second trailer looks like a teenager's wankfest.

Well, trailer one looked awesomes, trailer 2 looks "meh". What the fuck were those purpley sparkly things coming out of that one zombies exploding head? It looked like some sort of SFX for the magic weapon in some wanky orcs and goblins and elves bollocks.

Yeah, the gameplay's generally going to be a "hit the zombies with the sharp things" type effort with a zombie film, but trailer 2 could have expanded on the idea of there being a decent plot and characterisations in it. I have no idea what teh game's about, now, other than zombies. What's the structure? What're the aims? Etc.

This is brilliant. I mean, it's ok to weigh your own expectations on the basis of a flashy video you don't like the look of but now you're anticipating its commercial failure even though its months from release and there has been little detail leaked or reported on? This has gone too far people. TOO FAR!

I'm like Gilly though. I've never played a open world FPS zombie game with an emphasis on melee attacks so I'm looking forward to seeing what it's all about.

The original trailed didn't show me anything at all. It was just a pretty video. At least this one actually goes some way to explaining what the game might be like.

Getting hopes up for something different on the basis of the first trailer seems completely silly.

Apparently this came out today (in the US), and also apparently it's a mess on consoles, but even worse on PC:

From what I've heard it's some sort of foul-up with the version on Steam -- the boxed retail version IS the final code.
