They should get Dave to link the canal up to Kalmar's place, then slide down the waterfall to Mr Dom's.

They could actually send Mr Dave down there, he could teach them all to be like Mr Dave then they could all climb back out.

Mr Dave could take them a portable generator with 10,000 litres of diesel and a 55" TV down the hole the size of a grapefruit to keep them entertained.

It might not be poisonous. They could boil it out, but it'd take a while to heat 5,000 litres :)

See the bit about making a canal? That's one way of filtering water. You pour your dirty water into the trench and then collect it from holes dug along the sides - it seeps through the soil to filter it.

Resourceful.

The water will be rusty and have some oil in it, but probably nothing else. But the article said they have sent a sample up to check what they've been drinking.

My Tomcat is getting bigger wheels shortly, it seems.

Nah, the question's not clear enough. It could easily be interpreted as "how much do the banks owe the government, and what's that on a per taxpayer basis", seeing as the whole point of the conversation was that "owes the taxpayer" is used interchangeably by everyone with "owes the government".

The question should have been "Do you think that, legally, the banks owe you money personally due to the government funded rescue packages?".

Yeah I'm all done.

Procedure is very straightforward. Worst bit is disrobing your bottom half in the changing room then walking through to the procedure room with your meat and two veg swinging away. Well I say swinging the fear of what was happening and made my 'nads shrink back into my body.

I gibbered like an idiot throughout the whole affair lamenting the money wasted on NHS IT projects and at one point - I kid you not - the Doc asked if I was going on holiday this year.

They are sore at the moment but the operation itself was about 5% as painful as the chalazion removal I went through a while back.

I am milking it for all its worth of course.

We used to go to a pub quiz that had quite a good prize for the most tasteless quiz team name, with bonus points if it were culled from the headlines. We'd win a minute behind the bar pouring as many pints as we could, or something pretty cool like that.

I've just read via the Sky News app, that the BNP faces bankruptcy due to the weight of legal costs against it.

Although their attempt to shut down Searchlight through legal means was deemed wrong, surely litigating against a political party to shut them down is a bad thing.

Are they being litigated against to shut them down, or litigated against for things they've done which deserve litigation?

Probably the latter, I just thought I'd throw it out there to provoke debate and redefine "edgy".
