Another picture of Amy Pond.
I do not understand why some people might think she's anything other than yum. Does not compute.
The Doctor appears to be Conan O'Brien as well, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
This YouTube clip is so fantastically nerdy it has to be mentioned here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOux5-sI_aY

It's the Quantum Leap titles using Dr Who clips. Oh boy.
That's rather jolly.

There is a link in the related videos section to the Hartnell/Troughton regeneration. I've not seen that in years and this is the first time I've noticed how fantastic it is, in many ways technically better than the Baker/Davidson regen.

I saw the new trailer in 3D yesterday, it was really good...

The new assisant is quite cute, and yes I would :)

Doctor Who tour for Matt Smith

The new Doctor Who will be introduced to fans across the UK later this month as a tour gets under way showcasing the first episode of the upcoming series.

The 11th doctor, Matt Smith, and his companion, Karen Gillan, will travel around the UK on a tour bus as part of a BBC Outreach programme.

The tour will target hard-to-reach communities relatively underserved by the BBC.

The locations are Belfast, Inverness, Sunderland, Salford and Northampton.

The first stop is Belfast on 29 March, with the tour winding up in Salford on 31 March.

3D trailer

Each location will also host a regional premiere of episode one, The Eleventh Hour, for local children.

"This is a great opportunity for the new doctor and his companion to interface directly with the people who matter most to Doctor Who: the fans," said Piers Wenger, executive producer and head of drama at BBC Wales.

Following the tour, the BBC will also hold events on big screens for Doctor Who fans in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Plymouth and Swansea.

Fans will also be shown a 3D Doctor Who trailer.

The new series will start on BBC One at Easter.

Still, lets remember happier times:

Just seen the 3D trailer without the 3D bit, overall I liked it! Cheesy bit with the monsters swirling around him but I really liked his echoey voice whilst falling towards the end, just before they're upside again. Sounded deeper and maturer. Of course, no doubt we're going to have lots of him running around and shouting "Wahey!" and stuff like latter Docs are wont to do, but yes - promising.

Love that pic of Davison, Chinny.

He seems to be playing him close to Tennant a little i thought, but I do think he's very interesting and surely thats the most important thing.

Yeah, I think he seemd to be pretty much exactly the same as Tennant who pretty much the same as (or built on, to be fair) Ecclestone. I don't think it's interesting, though. I think it's quite boring. Old who always has someone who was completely different to what went on before, which was one of the show's strengths, I think.

Also, I'm baffled anyone couldn't find Amy Pond rather tasty. I suspect Chinny would prefer Bonnie Langford. :hat:

I'm really torn as to whether I should lose my soul and click on that link to the Daily Mail. mmmmm red.
They give out the InStyle magazine (which has the photoshoot that the Mail's "story" is about) on the boat I get to work. The photos are rather nice :)

That stuck-up cow on the Frank Skinner show works on that magazine (and mentions it every bloody week) hence I can only imagine it's horrific.

Frank Skinner annoys me due to his face being set on one perpetual expression. Couldn't he operate on radio and post out passport photos of himself to look at, perhaps with friend listener waving it back and forth to simulate body movement.

Who is this stuck up cow? Is it Tara Thingymabob? She also annoys.

He has a male and female co-presenter. The male presenter is a feckless boy who claims to be a comedian, while the woman is a sloan ranger who's claim to fame was being in the original Day Of The Triffids. Oh look, she's got a twitter feed. This'll be good (if you want to stab your own eyes out - Ed):

I only listen on podcast because I need material when I'm cycling. Danny Baker, Fighting Talk, Football Weekly, Ross and 606 come first natch. Skinner is alright but tends to repeat the same jokes over and over and over. Danny Baker he is not. But few people have that level of genius.
Just got in from walking home from work through Cardiff city centre, passed Cineworld. They had a rather impressive crashed Tardis out front on the lawn that was belching smoke, a tent with a loud scary monster-robot voice grating, "ALERT! The Time Lord is ESCAPING!" or something every five seconds and a load of stewards hanging around outside a red carpet affair and big Doc Who billboards with new logo and pictures of mm, yum, new companion.

The stewards must have loved that voice. It was relentless.

Anyway, no prizes for guessing that it was an episode premiere event. Walked along, cursing that I hadn't my camera on me, and was called over a few streets later by this tiny voiced Asian boy in a car with his mum who wanted to know where the cinema was. I gave him the direction, telling him he couldn't miss it as there was a crashed Tardis outside, and he excitedly squealed that that was where he was going, he had an invite!

Aw. Bless.

Naturally I briefly considered killing him and wearing his skin to get past the stewards and enjoy the premiere, but reflected that whilst the Doctor is a master of hiding big things inside of small things, I myself wasn't and it would be damned inconvenient wearing a ten year old's clothes and epidermis. Besides, I don't think the mum would have looked kindly on my skin-suit exploits, and with his mum watching I couldn't blame it on Reavers, so I wished 'em a good time and walked on. ?:|

Ah! Ta for that! Glee.

And yep, that's the event! Wow. I'm actually really looking forward to this, I suspect it might be corking. Also liked the mention of it being 'fairy tale-ish'. I like Doc Who with a lightness of touch and otherworldliness, I don't like it quite as much when it mires itself in politics and moodiness.
Here is a clip from the new show -

That is such a good way to

Great stuff, he is growing on me.
This second trailer thing made me more hopeful than previous stuff.

I am increasingly of the opinion that the new series is going to be an awful lot better than simply 'good'.
Ooh. That trailer is good. I think I might be coming round to thinking this may actually be special. I don't want to get my hopes up too much though in case it isn't.
This is going to be awful, the Doctor looks 12, wah wah wah.
That BBC America trailer has further excited me. Really, really looking forward to this. Maybe it'll be the series that starts drawing big attention in the US, who knows?

Had a night in last night and decided to watch the first classic Who I've seen in a long, long time. A You Tube search found me Jon Pertwee's 'The Time Warrior', so I decided to give it a go. Fuck, it was a load of fun! No darkness, an angry Sontaran, medieval England and one of the most 'clearly having a good time' performances by a baddy ever in the form of the excellent lovable bastard Irongron and his toady, Bloodaxe. It was the sort of role Brian Blessed would covet, and even though the bearded armoured warlord Irongron kept wanting to chop people's heads off and take over Britain, he was such a lovable party-animal, such an amusing rogue, such an underdog with his rubbish army and lack of planning that my heart went out to the guy. Almost felt sad when he was foiled.

Producers and writers, more baddies who you'd like to hang out with at parties please.
Actually I think the Doctor has aged during filming, he looks at least fourteen now.

I have everything crossed that the series will be as good as the recent trailers. :)
I am sad that Tenant has gone, but looking forward to the new series...

Watched the last two again... got all water eyed when Wilf knocked on the glass...
They showed a brilliant clip from episode 6. I'm utterly besotted.

I prefer his Doctor to D. Tennant's Doctor already!
Gotta love the way they keep releasing new trailers which are only slightly different from the last one. It's almost Hollywood.
Nice clips!

The PR blitz has taken a fun turn:

I'd love to say i spotted it myself - but watch the clip again and look for the 'tag' on the dalek (under the eye stalk as it swivels round)

That's interesting along with the Spitfires/Hurricanes in space it would suggest that perhaps their is an episode where the Daleks appear in the WW2 era and possibly pretend to be on the Allies side - This may of course be totally wrong but thought I would spoiler it anyway

The term 'Churchil's Daleks' has been used a number of times on the net already, expect an OMFG what are you doing? moment from the Doc.
