After a truly yummy tapas lunch we're on the train.

No more sleeeeeps!

And Zardoz's prediction is probably correct. I did mutter something about not drinking until 4pm but then laughed hysterically when I remembered who I am.

And if myp signed up with his real name, he's got his first and last names the wrong way round, the twunt.

I really haven't. Showing up the right way round on mine.

There are about 20 people listed as (first name)(first letter of your surname). And one person listed as (your surname)(first letter of your first name).

Spookily enough, at the same time you posted that I got a text off Perkies saying they'd just passed Birmingham on their way to Manchester. If you're driving you'll pass them, so wave at every car going the other way.

Also: I am at home. Let the festivities begin!

I'm kicking things off with doing 2 weeks' worth of washing up.

Where are you stuck? At a guess I'd say the M6/M5 interchange.

I seem to have added Myp and Gaywood from my google contacts on Foursquare (which is interesting as I don't remember having any contact with the Doc through google, so I have no idea how this trickery works.
Anyway, just to clarify, I'm still on the sofa. See you all (or some of you) tomorrow.

Edit - How do I actually checkin? Do I have to be in a recognised venue?

Google thinks it'll improve soon, but there is a really slow bit near Medely Heath where you go over the A525 between J15 and 16.

The fact that it's pretty much constant roadworks from Birmingham to Stoke doesn't really help, but I think they stop after J16 (unless there's been some new ones in the last couple of weeks). I don't envy you, trying to make the trip at this time though.

Wave to the Meatys then.

The roadworks really help smooth flow out, I've found the quite-a-few times I've gone through the various combinations over the last few months.

Apart from when you hit a night closure and have to go up to Eccleshall from Stafford on the A34.

You Southers really don't know road layouts above Watford Gap, do you? The M6 Toll cuts over the top of Brum from the M42-M6 J11a. Good for Souths going North, less so for Welsh doing the same.

Seriously, you're there in rush hour, you could have popped off at 15 and hung around here for an hour instead of sitting in traffic. Make a note for next time. :)

If only the Toll was more profitable, it might put some urgency behind the western one they talked about years ago. I love it.

Well they've raised the prices about 4 times since it opened. I live about 2 miles away from the Burntwood junction, and it's simply easier to travel down the A5/38 to get on the M42 from here.

I'm still in Dublin.

But on the plus side, I am looking at lots of planes. Because I'm through security and shortly heading off to do battle with BastardAir.

I think the weekday car price might be going up to a fiver, but the weekend is still £4.50. I'm not too sure, I only tend to go on it when I'm completely zoned out in the right hand lane and miss J11A altogetherthere's serious delays between 11A and 6.
