I use the word "liability" a lot, being a lawyer. I have only recently noticed, however, that "labiality" is a word, and it's a word recognised by Word. So that word may be in a lot of Word documents I've produced over the years. Word.

I'd love to see a barrister arguing about his client having £10,000,000 of labiality.

Why is it 'bad' when house prices go up, or when they go down, or when they stay the same?

It isn't universally bad when any of those things happen, there's always winners and losers.

Set up an automatic word replace now to get rid of labiality next time you type it. Just in case.

But there are considerably more losers when they go down.

The only people who win with a house price rise are people who want to sell it and go back to renting or trade down, and people with near 100% mortgages.

Whereas virtually everyone wins with a price fall, including the vast majority of homeowners who want to trade up someday.

Or people moving from an expensive area to a cheaper area (like I've done twice)

I wonder where I can find that's cheaper than Ivybridge for my next move...

Fair enough, point being, the winners are actually those trading down when prices go up, which isn't most home owners and certainly not the smug "I've got 50k more house" ones.

There was an advert on Radio 2 for the Kaiser Chiefs playing a concert.

I misheard a part of it as 'The Kaiser Chiefs will play some of their greatest hits to thousands of cunts in Leeds'.

Speaking of headlines the sandwich board thing (sub - name of said thing please) that goes outside of newsagents that normally says things like "Spidey takes Doc Oc. Up the Bum!" for the local rag regaled us with the following enticement to purchase said publication.

"YOUNGSTER CHOSEN TO BE CITY MASCOT"

As in Hull City, the football club, who are in the playoffs this weekend.

I fully expect to see "EXCLUSIVE! FOOTBALL TO BE KICKED AT WEMBLEY THIS WEEKEND" today.

The Lancaster Guardian sandwich board is always announcing such things.

Back in the early days of WoS, some of you might remember me moaning that some cuntrag had registered comicalgames.co.uk (I own .com) because he was a direct competitor, back when I sold retro games. The registration was for two years and expired in February. I noticed the little tosspot hadn't bothered to renew it, and I've been waiting for it to lapse from the registry for the last 4 months.

I check again today and see that, fucking fuck fuckity fuck, some OTHER cunt has slipped in there before me and re-registered it just TODAY. It's some random cunt with a random address that'll no doubt just use it to display those annoying syndication ads and for no other purpose.

Seriously, what's fucking wrong with the world?

It doesn't *really* matter, I suppose, because my customers are always intelligent enough to type in the correct address, but it's just this fucking squatting that pisses me off. The twatface who thinks he'll capitalise from accidental click-throughs that were intended for me. It's a kind of mentality that I wish to sunder with a very large axe.

What's your query?

If you stay in the same house forever, price is irrelevant, you're never selling.

If you change house, it's almost certainly to a bigger one. Let's say one 10% bigger.

If the average house price is £100k, you need to find another £10k.

If the house prices have risen to a £200k average, you think you're better off but actually you need to find £20k.

You're functionally £10k worse off as a house owner with rising house prices.

The only way it works is selling a house at a profit to do something cheaper, either renting or small house or cheap area.

In short, the vast majority of the beneficiaries of housing price rises are buy to let cunts.

Hello chap. PM me if you're interested in getting the .co.uk domain. I dealt with a lot of domain disputes when I worked for 123-reg.

Wot Markg said.

So. Just went into the gents' for to make a deposit. I checked the first cubicle had toilet paper, which it didn't. So I wisely moved on to the next one. Whilst I was in there, a fellow customer settled into the first cubicle. I spent the next few minutes with a happy smile on my face in anticipation of the anguished "aaaaaaawwwww!" that arose from my neighbour once he had finished his transaction and reached over to avail himself of some of the toilet paper that wasn't there. And he didn't disappoint.

After the sounds of a soul in torment had died down, he then shuffled his way across to an empty cubicle - I have no idea if he risked cloth-touching or went tackle oot. Either way - brave lad.

It's the little things, isn't it?

If one follows the Good Guide to Toilet Ettiquette, you never even so much as acknowledge the existance of another man until you're both finished with whatever it was you went in there for.

Yesterday in Mr Chris: Ace Attorney:

*Witness dabs sweating forehead with delicate handkerchief, adjusts tie in three frames per second animation.*

Witness: Of course I saw him dead! I heard him being stabbed in his cubical - once I'd conducted my business I ran over, opened the door and saw him there, slumped and bleeding... dead...

Mr Chris taps his head, then wags his finger before waving book in 'you're forgetting...' manner*

Mr Chris: If one follows the Good Guide to Toilet Ettiquette, you never even so much as acknoweldge the existance of another man until you're both finished with whatever it was you went in there for.

Witness: AUGH!

*Witness tears at wig, grimaces fiercely, etc.*

Just had a massive roll of thunder over our office which has set off car alarms in the car park next door. I actually felt that.

Heavens.

I remember returning to my old flat in Barry after seeing the 4/5th's excellent War of the Worlds movie, and a great big thunderstorm with the bruised green clouds was rolling up over the channel. Really heavy house rattling thunder and fork lightning, which I watched from my skylight. I was deliciously freaked out by it all, as aside from the lack of near silent lightning, it looked incredibly apocalyptic and War of the Worldsy.

Yes, that was a cool, scary night. Tripod nightmares later too, erk!

I just bought a Motorola Fone F3 for £15 from tesco, and it came with £10.20 of free credit on Tesco Network (O2). Why? BECAUSE I COULD. It was so stupidly cheap that I couldn't resist. It'll be an emergency phone that I'll keep turned off somewhere, or give the number out to people I don't like very much. :)

I keep meaning to do that if only for the idiotic online ordering places that absolutely insist on being given a valid phone number. Then I can turn it on when I'm expecting an order in case they really do want to call me.

Normally in those circumstances I've just been giving them their own customer service line as my contact number.

It really is an horrifically shit phone. The interface is dire. I won't even bother trying to add stuff to the address book or ever use it for texts.

It is however super-slim, purports to have a fair battery life, and I could almost fit it in my wallet.

As far as I'm concerned that's the game beaten, because I can't even do Slow Ride on hard.

So aliens, spiders and rain can't get in through windows? This strongly suggests that aliens are spiders made out of water.
