TLAD is something I could possibly see myself paying 1,600 points on if it's 10-15 hours of new gameplay as claimed. This Watchman game sounds terrible, though.

Eurogamer report:
Quote:
PopCap Arcade Vol. 2 is coming to Xbox Live Arcade on 31st March, according to Gamespot. It'll include three PopCap titles, and topping the bill is hit puzzler Peggle. It's already a big hit with PC gamers, having been downloaded 45 million times - read our review to find out what all the fuss is about. The compilation also includes Heavy Weapon, which previously scored a very respectable 8/10 here on Eurogamer, and Feeding Frenzy 2, which didn't.
Ruh roh. Are they bundling it so they can charge more?

And will there be a discount for those of us who already bought one or more of those games?

I'm guessing not. And I'm assuming it'll be 1600 points.

Which means they can get to fuck, Peggle or no Peggle.

That'd be madness. 1200 I could see though.

I've never played Peggle (yes, I know). I'll get it for the iPhone I think.

Gngh. I think I'm just going to spend my points on older 400/800 point games that I haven't got round to buying yet, and then ignoring all future releases.

Hang on!

http://www.pegglefever.com/product/xbox_360 and kotaku implies that the bundle of peggle + feeding frenzy + heavy weapon comes on a disk.

And that peggle is combing to XBLA and will be 800 points.

Hell, I've already played it on the Mac but I'm tempted to buy it for XBLA just to make a point.

Oh, that makes perfect sense.

Fingers crossed! It was on sale for PC for, what, £3 last week? So any more than 800 points for the game, even with a new four player mode, would be swingeing.

Why?

Surely only buying stuff you like for less amounts sends the right message to M$. It's pointless hoovering up cheap shite.

Peggle's the tenth best game ever made.

FACT.

(Where FACT equals OPINION, obviously.)

It's super old on PC though. It was what $20 on release?

I had a brief go on it last night. It was very basic. XXY combos and the like that are the trademark of any brawler and no real opportunity to take on more than one assailant at once. Looked quite pretty though but certainly not something I could bring myself to spunk 1600 points on.

It may be a good brawler but 'X for light attack and Y for heavy attack' and then button mashing while pointing your character vaguely in the direction of the masses of cannon fodder in your vicinity has never been my thing.

Rorscharch's mask is good though if that helps.

start getting your points. good games are coming.

Major Nelson just posted about The Days of Arcade, which will be a six week long promotion on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. The Days of Arcade is going to be like last year's Summer of Arcade.

First out of the gate on March 18th is Hasbro Family Game Night. In no particular order (we're guessing because of Microsoft's certification process) we'll see the following after:

* The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai
* Flock
* Lode Runner
* Outrun Online Arcade
* Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
* UNO Rush

One week will feature an Xbox LIVE twofer as there's seven titles in the six week promotion. No details on when and how much though.

EDIT: A little robotic birdy just told us that we may be seeing a couple more games in this period as well. CRYSTAL DEFENDERS, and CellFactor: Psychokinetic Wars. Purely a rumor though, so don't get your hopes up.

OutRun and possibly Lode Runner are the only ones that are even vaguely interesting out of that little lot. What can they add to UNO that the original doesn't deal with?

The Dishwasher is that XNA game that everyone raved about but seemed like a bit of a one trick pony, right?

Yep. It got loads of positive press during that whole XNA thing but I thought it was terribly dull.

Crystal Defenders was originally an iPod Click Wheel game, then an iPhone game, now an XBLA game.

Right, I just bought peggle after playing 1 level.
800 points, tease me with an achievement. See microsoft, it's easy to get my money when you know how.

I can't remember what the last thing I bought was (apart from shitloads of RB DLC :p ).

I remember now, I bought Worms when it dropped to 400 points. That's the last XBLA game I've bought since the summer.

I just know that I'll end up buying Peggle on XBLA despite owning it on PC and iPod already.

(And Peggle Extreme and Peggle Nights.)

The iPod version is a nice little Tower Defense game.

I assume the 360 version is much the same.

Peggle is digital crack..

Its not even like its amazing gameplay that sucks you in, its all too luck based. But suck you in it does.

I blame the slo-mo close-up of the ball heading towards the final peg, and then 'Ode to Joy'.

Decent game, but technically it's horrible. I may buy it though, because I was enjoyed it on my freshly-laundered iPod Nano.

It looks like a scaled up phone game (which it is), very poor presentation for a Skweenix game.

Also: It's not Peggle.

Blimey. For a tarted-up version of Bagatelle, Peggle isn't half bad. I've spent half the day playing it. I even got to 7th in the world on one of the levels.

Yep, best high score game since geometry wars 2 (I'm still playing that on an almost daily basis, the only one who is by the look of things). I had to laugh when I popped on for a quick go this morning only to find that Malc74 had systematically gone through the levels and knocked me off the top on almost all of them, the bugger (I've reclaimed a couple, though, Malc, and managed a 6th in the world for about five minutes).

With the amount of luck involved it probably shouldn't be as much fun as it is, but - well worth the 800 points, I think.

It's half of Outrun 2006:C2C, which I believe is based on Outrun 2 SP. Is that the one you played?
