I had a similar concept from the other side in VampireScum, in that if the Vamps turned the Serial Killer, he was still the Killer (and would doublecross them). Hence the Vamps couldn't necessarily trust their internal list. Ditto the Masons, if one of them was recruited, he became a Vamp but would still be on the Mason private list.

I like the idea of a game where there's a lot going on under the surface. I keep having ideas about a more ARG style Mafia game, with several factional groupings, shifting loyalties, and more outlandish powers like this "edit past posts" one myop has in this game.

It's certainly interesting, as it'd be clear to the masons when the inducted mafia was not towing the party line, while the Mafia would be leaking info to his chums, which would help them similary.

Meanwhile, you've got the vanilla townies, who'd probably have to assume after a couple of days that any meaningful blockvoting was actually to their favour... and how easy would that be to corrupt, either from the inside or outside.

It'd be an enormously powerful tool for the town, so long as they picked wisely.

Actually i think the problem with one of those two was that Sheepeh had just got to 5 votes and the akward git was then defending them.

I wonder if the Awkward Git is also a different person... like the Awkward Serial Killer, for instance.

Malc, you awkward serial killer...

Dudley, you cunt. When were you recruited?

I like this though, is Joans telling the truth? He could be, but it could also be an awesome endgame tactic by the mafia. They might have realised they only need to knock off another townie or two to win.

What's with deleting my post? In previous games it was established that newly dead people could make one final 'Oh shit I'm dead' post, although most people don't take advantage of it.

You should've asked me, I'd have put it in your death scene. My rules state anyone dead cannot post in the main thread.

Anyway, due to the night actions it's going to get very interesting tomorrow. :D

You're such a bummer Gaywood ;)

If I'd claimed to have had a vision nobody would have believed it. Besides, its now Day 4 and this is the first vision anyone has admitted to. People are wimps. Revealing someone as a townie would have been just as helpful.

Anyone getting anywhere with the encoded message? Treating it as a pure crytogram got me "THE GUN IN THE SHORT DYKE". Which, uhh, is nonsense. It doesn't seem to be any sort of Caeser cypher this time.

So, I found out who the entire cult was, but wasn't actually recruited. Can't play on from there.

DUUUH!

To confirm, I got this PM and replied to Craster. :)

Richardgaywood wrote:

Bollocks. I get a PM saying "You've been recruited, the leader is [AHAHAHA]" and one effectively saying "Hi I'm in the cult" from someone else and I'm suppose to assume they're (illegally) PMing me about a vision and not that they're the other cultist?

The two possibilities were "Craster is a cheating fuck" and "Craster is in the cult too".

(I missed of course the real answer - "Craster is an idiot".)

Which is why of course, the cult wanted him gone :)

I notice Gazchap made a posting protesting his innocence.

And only afterwards made another one with the Seer claim which just stinks of tit for tat.

That's because it was still a fucking stupid thing for them to do.

If they're about to analyse what I did to find the cult leader, I feel I'm safe in saying they will fail. Especially as they don't know when I was recruited unless they're smart enough to tie it to Craster's suicide.

This has become interesting, with many, many people up for the chop.

There could be multiple lies... if the Mafia or Cult get the other people to off their enemies, one of them could make massive progress tonight...

Surely it's obvious. If they get a new leader, it's impossible for the town to win, as they'd have to kill off two cult each day to win.

So the cult can't get a new leader if the rules are at all fair.

ALso interesting to note that even if Curiosity had survived day 1, he'd now be screwed anyway. (Indeed, the town would've had problems picking which of their three targets to choose yesterday)

The best thing about day 1 was when everyone was close to lynching Curio, he managed to get some people to unvote and vote for Gaz instead. If he'd managed to get the real SK lynched instead it would've been hilarious!

Someone said they saw something, the town were already voting two other scum dead.

It really wasn't needed.

Also that was seriously unlucky camera placement for the cult.

That was one of my reasons for keeping him alive, there was a chance that we would lynch the SK ourselves, outing Curiosity, which would have been pretty darned funny!

This is a most excellent game, indeed.

I wasn't sure about the Seer and CCTV operator roles before the game started, but they've worked brilliantly for this game.

It partly depends on who has the role and what they do about it.

e.g. i couldnt see CG as a very good seer - he'd be posting the very next day "right i am the seer and i chose playerX and PlayerY so tell me what you saw last night now or else !!!"

Its definetly down to the town to lose the game now - although someone needs to hit the cult leader otherwise the cult still grows one overnight and the town / mafia drop because of the other kills.

It would be hilarious if instead of killing GJ, who is apparently the Cult Leader, GazChap goes and kills someone at random, like Joans.

That would make me laugh.

The cult get a recruit tonight whether or not the leader dies, so they're not out of it yet.

If the remaining Goon isn't a fool, they will target a townie tonight and leave the SK and Cult Leader well alone.

It should be interesting.

I still think Gaz turning on the town would be funniest, because the town would be forced to let him live as the more pressing need is to lynch Jasmine.

So he'd get to off someone else during the next night too before the townies tired of him.

Of course, should he play along with the town, and the town ends up winning, then my argument about the town allowing the SK to live as he's their best weapon would be shown to be true!

Yeah, if Gaz kills tonight he gets 1 more kill.

If he betrays them he'll probably get 2.

Since his win condition is effectively to get as many kills in as possible he SHOULD betray them.

Of course, should he play along with the town, and the town ends up winning, then my argument about the town allowing the SK to live as he's their best weapon would be shown to be true!

Although hardly original, I've certainly suggested it a fair few times (and even before we got decimated by the SK in the last game)

Yeah, if Gaz kills tonight he gets 1 more kill.

If he betrays them he'll probably get 2.

Since his win condition is effectively to get as many kills in as possible he SHOULD betray them.

If Gaz kills tonight, he'll get 2 at most. If he doesn't, he could well up up with more. The town don't know exactly how many Mafia or Cult there are left, and they may well not kill him until after they're all gone.

It would be amusing if he was kept alive trying to find the last mafia, when there aren't actually any left.

Indeed. I do hope that myp will not confirm when a certain faction is removed from the game, and will only confirm when one side wins. That would certainly be more fun, IMO, and will no doubt lead to much hand-wringing from the townies over how long to keep Gaz alive for...

He should not alert one side or another - its up for the players to work it out.

For my money until you get close to the end if you have not got the cult leader you keep the SK , but once they are gone the SK should pretty much be the next to go (again unless your on a really small number remaining)

I'm not giving anything away until the end of the game. :)
